On this basis I would not be surprised if the MAN DD ends up on route 106.
Possible!
We shall see in the coming months.
The tender for that package should be out quite soon I think.
Official spec sheet released by SMRT, though it is not the full one. Something interesting to note is the spec of the Lion's City DD L that is also listed (seems like a 12.8m model).

The L is a 13.7m chassis based directly off the original A39. It has a longer wheelbase and an even longer rear overhang.
One thing that makes this bus feel so long (even though it is only 12m) is the rear overhang at almost 2.6m. The enviro500s is only 2.46m.
hope SMRT upgrade the A22 orders to convert part of the order to MAN DD.. say 50%?

The seating capacity of the L seems to hint it being a 12.8m version (it's very close to the 12.8m B9TL and E500), if it was the 13.7m version with 2 doors, the capacity should be even higher. Also it couldn't be the original 3 door 2 staircase version, as that has even lower capacity.

The code DD L is a 13.7m bus, not the 12.8m type...
For STK MAN, they recognise this 12m as DD while like the Berlin 13.7m is as DD L...
OT:
CTB 12.8m Wright has arrived at port today...

When are the 50 A24 units going to arrive? If SMRT is not going to put DDs on feeders, it at least needs to get the A24s fast. 804/806/860 need it badly given the huge surge in people living along Yishun st 41, Yishun ave 6 and Yishun Ring Road.
Every single bus - I mean every single bus is going fully packed.

Then 860 should for sure get BSEP E500s. AM/PM load both crazy.

SMRT only bought 40 bendies for this year...

Actually... need a trunk route to west or east that should do ring road given the # of HDBs and rise in population around ring road.. This can also help eleviate load on 860 somewhat.
I think they might just throw WL BSEP A22s over to AM again when WL BSEP slots get upgraded...

I think when Habit starts to dereg...right now they clearing the trunk svc fleet..

There will be a large displacement of bendy buses from routes getting double-decker buses. These displaced bendy buses are likely to be redeployed to shore up capacity on feeder routes.
Eventually at some stage SMRT will have to convince LTA to allow them to put bendy buses on BSEP routes. This might happen when LTA starts to acquire buses under the parcel tender model. Currently none of the current or future bendy buses are allocated for BSEP.
For e time being the non WAB bendies will do e feeders job till the 40 A24s arrived,Then SMRT might order 50-60 more if more DDs is deployed and box bendies and MK2 is dereg,Get e picture?SMRT smart actually,Buy a few units first then convince LTA to add BSEP hahaha see e game there?

But do you see that as of now... it has all been MAN to ADL substitutions... so basically till now not even 1 bendy has been freed up to increase capacity on feeders.. hence all feeders/intratowns in SMRT area are still under capacity.
I still believe LTA will add another 50 units of E500s and probably the MAN DDs too..
For feeders and short trunks 120 WAB bendies is sufficient.New Ang Mo Kio depot with a capacity of 500 lots should be enough.

Yes but lets see when they order.. even no news of A24 order and delivery...
I agree SMRT will order more DDs and seems likely that they will get MAN DDs while the E500s will be from LTA.

That is for now. Priority seems to be focusing on frequency first (especially the increase in line with BSEP and higher QoS standards), then capacity.
It will be a bit hard to believe all 200 Enviro500 MMCs would fail to displace any bendy buses for redeployment on feeder routes. If SMRT is thinking straight, some of the current DD routes should be emptied of all its bendy bus fleet in the long term.

Yes... agreed.. but seems like 100 units of SMRT will be registered first.. which will get deployed until end of year..
seems like only next year SMRT services will take DDs with the way things look... and then services like 190 should get MAN-->DD replacement rather than bendy-->DD replacement to meet capacity needs.
Yishun also needs to get its temp interchange soon. It is taking way too much time. 857 was said to get DDs in SMRT's first announcement.. no news yet coz of Yishun interchange...

I somewhat consider some of the BSEP DDs as non-BSEP fleet expansions as well...
