lol Volgren O405G = Hispano O405G in terms of quality? a look at the Volgren O405s seem to suggest they too are on the verge of falling apart at least australian bodies hasnt come apart before your eyes for you to bash them.
bro, cost is a major factor but not the only factor. given GML's workmanship, the cost is probably justifiable (or a tad ex if you consider potential long term life-cycle costs). but you see ar, if GML cannot deliver as per SMRT's requirements, how to win contract ar?
Actually i did mention about Hispano bodied but Volgren,But at least they take years to vibrate and squeak..Even the DM also vibrate. But GML less than 5 years already show sign of .....duh!

actually ar, all bus bodies do vibrate eh, its just how much or how little. maybe the GML bodies do show their age faster, but you see ar, even the DM bodies (that you all once bashed) also vibrate and squeak like no tomorrow.
oh, you do know that the Volgren bodies during TIBS's time were actually assembled by GML?
Assemble and manufacturing/assemble is a lot different leh,Even the Enviro500 body assembled in China

May be for SMRT...
Or for HK also, coz KMB A95 is also assembled by Gemilang...
If I'm not wrong, there are 2 or 3 A95s with standard MAN rims in GML, which i suppose are for CTB/NWFB as demos. The A95s come with Emergency Exit same as the KMB demo. They are already going complete assembly.

Most prob CTB...
NWFB doubt so...

I'm telling u, A95 is not the hooting latest trend in HK!!!
One Demo only, latest trend?!
Or does your post state otherwise? Phrase properly leh!
Then what bout the open top?Not A95?I believe there are more than 3 units already right?I safely can say all operators will follow suit..They will order in mass,So the A95 is not the latest trend of DDs?HK latest DD model is A95 right after K280/310UD,B9TLs,Enviro500s??What is wrong with you?
128B bro is right... MAN is the one pushing demonstrators out to operators, to try to regain the RHD DD market. But it is a difficult task. E500MMC is specially designed and tweaked for the HK market, with steep staircases that allows the highest carrying capacity, and a reliable and familiar 340hp Cummins engine that delivers the torque to climb its many hills.
Tender results recently have not been in favour of MAN too. NWFB and Discovery Bay newest types will be B9TL Wrights, KMB started taking delivery of steep staircase B9TL Wrights recently, and CTB is just taking in Enviro's and Youngman's. MAN buses have traditionally been associated with New Lantau Bus and Park Island's bus services in HK, but even Sunlongs can overcome their 1:6 slopes in Tung Chung now! The odds are stacked against MAN in HK. Too little, too late. So if the Singaporean RHD market is not huge enough for MAN, you will expect to see them giving up on RHD development after a few years.
KMB's A95 demonstrator houses a 320hp engine by the way. Few purpose-built demonstrators get the maximum specifications anyway; others are simply unwanted buses where distributors have to find some economic value for them.
Tamago,Its not the market im concern about,I just tell him that SMRT is the one using the A95 first and ive noticed suddenly MAN send demos to HK operators for trail in the latest trend,Whats wrong with it???Just because im a Malay i cant voice out my say is it?
Cos STK as a distributor is willing to help MAN with this difficult task to liaise with Gemilang to build it and find a willing trial customer in SMRT? There is nothing whimsical going on here. These companies are guided by practical business considerations, so don't second-guess their intentions with speculations. And please don't martyrize yourself to get your point across. That is most unhelpful to a constructive discussion. Thank you..
Thanks for the reply but as the says is truth hurt..But i stand my point the A95s is the latest trend and i believe the operators there are also interested if pricing is right.
You're welcome...

Yeah bro with day running lights,Got 2 units if im not wrong..Minus point is shoddy Gemilang body and of course the MAN chassis itself which is very expensive compared to Volvo B9TLs..
Alright! Today, there's a New Lantau Bus(NLB) MAN A95 which I supposed is a demonstrator, towed to Pasir Panjang Port for shipment to HK...
