Bedok mrt bus stop behind it is a small gradual hill where it still uses staircases to get to the old bus int. Till now if you notice, there is still a climbing staircase and a ramp beside the bedok mall at the side.
Bedok hawker ctr has a higher ground than bedok mrt bus stop. Thus the naming. Bedok mall spans between both areas. Cheers

Yes.. and so you have sv 25 for that.. sv 25 DDs are not full between Eunos and Bedok. Do you know?

Imo, these two served parallel route from bedok to Hougang Ave 2 and vice versa for a reason. Packed during morning peak and evening peak...
Ever boarded 25 from Eunos Link... Full upper deck and lower deck all the way to Ang Mo Kio... On separate occasion, took 854... Ended up standing or even near the door all the way to Yishun

Agreed... where am I saying no... Its just that the packed loading is between Eunos MRT and AMK MRT for sv 25 and Eunos MRT to Yishun for sv 854. The buses are not packed between Bedok and Eunos. I am saying 854 should start from Eunos as that's where the main load comes from. Also, you have 55 covering long stretch of the route in parallel.
Anyway, it was just a suggestion for 854 since it was not mentioned in Bedok ITH announcement. It is okay for 854 to continue ply Bedok / Yishun. Doesn't hurt.
size of new interchange is 1.6 hectare which is 16000 m2 which is double size of Clementi interchange.... But it is smaller than Boon Lay interchange which is at 20000 m2..

if 854 does not stop at new bedok int, do u think it will loop around bedok town centre & go back to Yishun?
new upp changi rd -> bedok nth ave 3 -> bedok nth st 1 -> Bedok Nth ave 1 -> new upp changi rd(back to yishun)
but, wouldnt the BC be tired of driving? haha

That would be very bad... It will lead to numerous schedule adherence problems and massive delays/bunching.
854 needs a terminal point on Eunos/Bedok side.
Dirty colon was a great burden on my life, and I wanted to get rid of it quickly. So I rushed to my doctor for some better advice, and he suggested me to use Direct Cleanse. I used this solution, and here is the result ...
56 lots for standard 12m bus and 2 lots for 18m bus for new interchanges
same number of lots as the current temp interchange..

Everyone,
End of speculation: 854 will terminate at Bedok Interchange.

But didnt the news release omit 854?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the temp Int's total number of parking lots was a drop in number from the original old Bedok Int? So if the new Int's parking lots are the same in number as the Temp Int's, that means they figured out that the number of lots is enough after cutting?
Oh yeah, the 56 lots for the Temp Int, it includes the 3x Sv 9 lots & the 2 oddball lots at the other end of the Temp Int near Sv 854's berth right?

Indeed, there seems to be provision for articulated buses.
There seems to be around two longer-than-usual parking lots at the bus bay and there seems to be around one sawtooth berth (seems to be the one nearest to Bedok North Drive) with longer-than-usual space for buses to collect passengers.
Originally posted by carbikebus:All sawtooth berths?Forsee a cramped Int…should have a bit of end berths too for an Int with many bus svc..
Yes, apparently, it seems that all the boarding berths in the new Bedok Bus Interchange are sawtooth type.
There seems to be around five beths for alighting (same as the new one at Boon Lay Bus Interchange) and around ten berths for boarding, with around fifty six average-sized parking lots and around two longer-than-average parking lots.
But then, even if there will be around the same number of alighting berths, the one at Bedok should be more fast-flowing (able to handle more buses in the same time) than the one at Boon Lay, since Bedok has only one bus service that will potentially use articulated buses (for all we know, Double Decker buses may be deployed on that SMRT bus service eventually), whereas Boon Lay has four.
Well, I am not allowed to share anything about the new bus interchange. So that's about all I would write.
Meanwhile, here's a look at how the temporary bus interchange is like
and how the original bus interchange was like (taken from SBS Transit's website, via wayback machine)

Common misconception:
This driveway does not lead to the bus interchange. Instead, it leads to the residential developments at level 3.
There are two driveways: one leding to the bus interchange, one leading to Bedok North Drive.
The former is located right beside the above-mentioned driveway, while the latter is located right nearest to the temporary bus interchange, where you can already see some sawtooth berths.
Originally posted by SMB128B:The contract board at the site said "underground bus int"...
Anyways it said direct connection to MRT, there is NO WAY you can directly connect any part of the station to the interchange (if it is elevated) without cutting through Bedok Mall...
How long ago was that news release btw?
It seems that the new Bedok Bus Interchange is "multi-storey"; single level but the "slanted at a gradient" such that it spreads from the ground level to the second level.
There is this walkway from Bedok Mall level two to level one that is already open and people use it to walk from New Upper Changi Road to Bedok North Drive.
It seems that there will be a pedestrian access at that walkway for people to enter/exit the new bus interchange, which is somewhat similar to last time when people walk from Bedok MRT Station underpass to the original bus interchange, via a walkway beside a hawker centre.

Obviously, LTA wont be able to give 4 parking slots to sv7/30/9/25 each if based on the old interchange layout.. this number of lots was already specific clearly in the tender documents.. LTA is assuming that 2 slots per service should be enough...
i did not go and count the slots at the temp interchange....

Apparently, the original Bedok Bus Interchange can be seen on Google Maps.
Well, it seems that the original bus interchange had around 38 parking lots (including 5 along the road) at the bus bay and around 33 parking lots at the end-on side; around 71 parking lots in total.

It is VERY UNLIKELY that LTA will make any modification to existing services. We only keep wishing we want Sembawang - JE service or Tampines - Joo Koon service but with LTA trends none of that is going to happen.
I am hoping to see at least a medium haul service like sv 50 to be introduced than just feeders.

How many end-on berths now?

In my opinion, I think we may see more Taman Jurong Bus Terminals (roadside bus terminals) in future, which may eventually lead to more Bukit Merah Bus Interchanges (bus interchanges that are not sited together with MRT Station), as more and more roadside bus terminals may be built and eventually, due to lack of space, isolated (not together with MRT Station) bus interchanges may be built to replace the roadside bus terminals.

When they do planning for new towns, they should allocate enough space for bus interchanges. To save space they can make it within mall - that is okay. But have sufficient lots for multiple services.
Bidadari, Tengah, Woodlands North, Tampines North all should have big interchanges. Upset to see that Bidadari interchange will have only 5 services (at least the press release says so).

There is a boarded up elevated platform next to the bedok mall main entrance..near nubox there. Part of the boarding cover on top has been removed so there will be escalator and staircase direct to level 2 of the mall which will be the interchg. Seems rather soon it is going to open...drilling noises all that can be heard in the mall.
Qsn is will all the parking lots be able to fit the buses coming into the interchg? Mostly likely not. Now that bsep buses are added, more somewhat extra buses can be seen laying over at the side of interchgs like tampines..former sv8 sawtooth berth onwards can see buses laying over.
