Pax kpkb they need an hr to get into interchange just 1 stop away when normally it takes only 5 mins...
Traffic jam looks really bad... easily will take 20 mins for bus to reach its alighting point... so bad for commuters who do not even have option to get down and walk (2 mins distance walking). Pathetic... and needs to be corrected asap.

From the comments here, it seems that the issue is with the traffic flow.
Possible adjustment:
- I notice there are eight bus services coming in from blk204 side, while there are twenty two bus services coming in from blk35/37/40 side. (reference: https://publictransportsg.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/sbst_bedok1.png & https://publictransportsg.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/smrt_bedok.png). There are more buses coming in from blk35/37/40 side than from blk204 side. LTA can consider re-routing some routes (eg. 225G) at the more congested side to enter from the other side (from blk204) which has less bus services using; balance the number of bus services coming in from each side.

Yesterday alone svc 60 lambat reach Eunos for nearly 23mins!!854 reach Yishun late by 34mins!!
I think it better move back to the old interchange some of the trunk service and only feeder buses service go into the interchange. or drop people off the old interchange and pick up people in the new one and park the buses at the old interchange. i think before long lta will need a extension of the interchage like seng kang and tampines so no need to rebuild one use back the old one and save $$$$$$ tax payers $$$$$$$$

Hi mr wsy1234, this will never happen. I have never seen 2 interchanges next to each other being used before. Moreover, 1 is main and 1 is temporary. Normally the temporary interchange will be demolished. Cheers.

it will be soon, if no other "good idea", If i am the transport minister i will order the old interchange to open back and move some or all service back to the old interchange. This is a very stupid and rush design as i suspect it is a very political things. As the last election east coast GRC came very close to lost to WP. it might back fired to PAP if nothing done for the bus traffic to go smoothly.

Hi mr bat spider, yes you are right. Once you mention this, I remember there is such a case. But it is only a temporary measure. They only give 5 months grace. Hope they can iron out the issues for bedok int asap. Cheers.

What's different for Bedok in this case is that both temp int and the ITH use the same road to enter and exit. If the temp int continues to be in use, there will be a extra set of traffic lights and this might cause a bigger jam.
some bus routes can be re-routed, without affecting their coverage.
17, 60, 87, 225W/G and 229 - they can be re-routed to use Bedok North Street 1 and Bedok North Interchange, to enter the interchange.
This should more or less balance the number of bus services entering/exiting from each side.
Now
Bedok North Ave 1 : Bedok North Street 1
22 : 8
If 17, 60, 87, 225W/G and 229 are re-routed
Bedok North Ave 1 : Bedok North Street 1
17 : 13
If less bus services use Bedok North Ave 1 to enter Bedok Bus Interchange, this should reduce (relieve) the traffic congestion at Bedok North Ave 1.

Sengkang and Tampines have extension because there will be more bus services calling there in future.
In the case of Bedok (and Boon Lay, for the matter), there are already thirty bus services calling there. I do not think it is wise to have beyond thirty bus services in a bus interchange.
If need be, there should be another bus interchange, at a MRT station in the East that currently do not have bus interchange. Eg: Tanah Merah.

Yes... but aren't we expecting that some services move to Joo Koon, creating some space for new services at Boon Lay!?>!?!

Nope, all use right lane. And jam is gone by today. (7pm)
They might have change the traffic lights, but I wonder why it is weird
Bedok North light turn green, ped light turn green
Bedok North light turn red, ped light blinks, Int ped light turn green
Bedok North ped light turn red, Int ped light turn green (At this point, it is entirely possible for 14/18/66/69/168/222/225/228 to turn, as ped light side is at Temp Int side)
Int ped light turn red, Int light turn green.
If can move, should just move, why wait inside? Buses to Int will be at right lane, and outbound buses will be at left lane anyway
i think the traffic light fine tuning has worked but the fundamental problem of an abysmally designed bus interchange has not been fixed and probably cannot be in the short term.
heard is a health hazard driving in this new interchange with the amount of carbon emitted daily ?
Hahaha especially to the BCs...Sg style pleasing the world at the expense of the workers..
