The original Bedok Bus Interchange opened on Sunday, 25 February 1979, as SBS’s second bus interchange. On Saturday, 19 November 2011, all operations were relocated to the temporary facility located beside the original facility. Soon, all operations will relocate to the new facility located at where the original facility was.
The new facility is air-conditioned and will be either the seventh or eighth air-conditioned bus interchange in Singapore, depending on whether it opens before or after Joo Koon Bus Interchange.
In my opinion, I think the new Bedok Bus Interchange will open on the same day as Joo Koon Bus Interchange, if not a day later. This may be the first time we see two new bus interchanges open on the same day.
854 is missing.
All is over.
Oh and yea, forgot to say this sometime back but the new int is underground.
You could probably tell anyway.

Underground? Shouldn't it be elevated instead?
According to a News Release by CapitaMalls Asia, "the new air-conditioned Bedok bus interchange ... is located above the mall on Level 2."
The new Bedok Bus Interchange may be the first elevated bus interchange in Singapore.
Hi guys. I am going over to Bedok tomorrow to study the new Bedok Bus Interchange.
When I am there tomorrow, is there anything you would like me to find out about?

854 should be included. Though they can shorten the route to Eunos Interchange and increase capacity in the Eunos - Yishun sector where it is more needed as you have 25 as an alternative until AMK Ave 3 junction.

Yes, do get an understanding of how many parking bays are there compared to what it is today? I guess that is most important... as boarding bays can accommodate 3-4 services... and can be flexible. But based on parking bays, you can make judgment on whether more services can start from Bedok. For instance, can 69 start from Bedok loop @ Tampines Interchange, making space at Tampines. But if # of parking bays is less, that kills our hope for any new service starting from Bedok.

JWR - can you check if there are bendy parking lots at the new interchange?

67 cannot coz it has heavy load between Eunos and Tampines. 854 is different coz it does not have load between Eunos and Bedok, hence can still implement the change.

Hi mr jurongwestresident, see how big it is. I have been urging for a direct 30 to 40 min punggol to bedok new bus service for long but so far it has been futile. Hope it will come true in the near future. Cheers.

The new Bedok Bus Interchange may be the first elevated bus interchange in Singapore.
The contract board at the site said "underground bus int"...
Anyways it said direct connection to MRT, there is NO WAY you can directly connect any part of the station to the interchange (if it is elevated) without cutting through Bedok Mall...
How long ago was that news release btw?

Didnt see 854 included in the footnote in the press release (the one at the starter post)...

From what I can see, it seems to be at the ground level...
Originally posted by carbikebus:We dont really care if its multi storey, elevated or underground but we more concern how many boarding berths does it have?Newer interchanges really very cramped..
According to the news, there are 10 boarding berths and 5 alighting berths.
Levels of malls are getting weirder, firstly, Level 1 is below street level. However, Level 2 is at the ground level of the entrance of the interchange. It is just that the ground level at Bedok Int is higher than Bedok MRT bus stop. Same case with Nex. Serangoon Int entrance ground level is lower than Serangoon Ctrl or Upp Serangoon Rd. But of all levels, it says B2, when Overhead bridge links it to B1. What is with level naming these days?
(Mind explode)
