SMRT has announced that they intend to hold a technological and static showcase on 12 Sep and 13 Sep. Details can be found here:
For once I would recommend those who are interested in understanding SMRT's bus operations to drop by and learn the technologies involved.
This is an unique opportunity and SMRT's kindness should not be taken for granted.

It is a very nice move on their end. I will go.
SMRT is very kind to do this...
Lets all go and enjoy yourselves and be mindful of our behaviour...
MOST IMPORTANTLY: DO NOT SPOIL ANY SMRT PROPERTY, esp buses...
OR it will be the FIRST AND LAST TIME ANY PTO plan any open house...
FYI, WRIGHT is still smarting from LT3's appearance in SG...

SMRT WLBP/WLDEP maybe..
All I saw on that page was arguments (as usual) about this blog and that group should be barred etc etc.
*shrugs*
You ask me and I say that there is good reason why many in the The Industry actually snigger at mention of these people.
If I appreciate my rides, I appreciate them as they are.
After all things come may and leave eventually with the passage of time.
yes,saw it and I think this would not have happened if BIS did not put so many links on SMRT's FB
Nobody cares.
The page wants attention, you give attention meh?
You want to see bus, you take bus, or drive bus, or work with bus.
You take control of what you can.
Not gripe over what you can't.

Unfortunately I can't make it to the event. The static bus displays probably aren't as important, but could I ask if someone could go and understand the technologies SMRT Buses is using that will be on display?
Personally I am hoping SBS2601D could go and then share some impressions or insights on how SMRT fits into the industry. Photographs here would be nice if SMRT allows.
Not worth the time to be fighting or even replying to this thread
The "spamming" issue is overblown by hobby politics. Some should see SMRT's reply and even some friends who usually comment regularly on sgforums find this whole nonsense by Marco funny.....shall not mention whom.... if one observes SMRT facebook way before this......
That is why nobody is bothering to reply to here to stand and defend because this will turn into another war....
The only thing one can say is do what you all want, stir up emotions, create anger and hate within your own community etc. A waste of time....
Back to Topic please...
Guess locations:
1. WLDEP (not top deck), KMB used to hold open houses at top deck of L depot and sometimes at S depot, but since SMRT wants shelter...
2. EXPO
3. MBS
4. SMRT HQ Stamford Rd(most unlikely)
5. AMDEP
6. Suntec
7. BULIM hehe

Haha, I'd guess WLDEP and WLBP. They did mention shelter, but the portable shelters should be ok too. Otherwise if it's indoors and there's not enough light it won't look good.

If portable shelters... WLDEP TOP DECK safest, KMB use L but no shelter...

SMRT Buses has since announced the event as a Career Fair:
The confirmed static display consists of three buses:
- 1 x Alexander-Dennis Enviro500 MMC
- 1 x MAN NG363F (A24)
- 1 x Mercedes-Benz O405 (assumed to be Hispano OAC or CAC)
With plans for SMRT Buses to bring in other buses at certain timings (as to what would they be...let's leave it to the lobbyists).
Work from the Bus Operations Control Centre (BOCC) would be on display for the first time, and a new capability revealed.
I have personal reservations as to whether SMRT Buses is overly optimistic, but for those interested in joining the industry, this is your opportunity to find out more.
I hope that Mr BusAnalyzer will join SMRT
Looking forward to the bus display, OCC and also the limited edition free gifts
