Was on the Mass Rapid Transit train just now. At around 7:40am, the train was travelling from Clementi station to Dover station. Along the way, I saw the green bus driving on service 185 along Commonwealth Avenue West, in the direction towards Buona Vista.
I was on the Australia bus today! :)
was at Dover MRT Station when I happened to see this bus on the road. I immediately ran to the bus stop to ride it.
SBS8002T. It arrived Dover MRT bus stop (towards Buona Vista) at 1:25pm today. It's on service 185.
anyway, just one comment:
somehow, I feel that the leather seats at the KUBs and the Citaros is more comfortable than the cushion seats on this Australia bus.
yes, it's quieter. but the aircon quite weak.

'According to the statues'. What statues?
There is no 143A. Why is it not 143M?

He must have mispelled 'statutes'. On the other hand, 143M is a BSEP service and therefore do not use non-BSEP buses as perms...

Service 143A was withdrawn long ago and is still in the statutes.

Since it was withdrawn without prior notice, I suppose they would not have realised that.

8002T back on svc~
I don't understand the negativity associated with the B5RH Hybrid. There are certain constraints that had to be taken into consideration in its conception. First of all, it is not possible to use a regular belt-driven air-conditioining system with a hybrid bus, for the simple reason that the engine belts would not be moving when the engine is switched off at idle. Additionally, a manual gearbox (or in this case, an automated manual) is required because of the characteristics of the iSAM system, i.e. the diesel engine requiring to be 'push started' during the first gearchange after a 'battery powered' standing start in order for it to resume normal operation.
Sure, there are certain spects that I don't like, for example the high floor height at the rear of the bus, but that is something that probably isn't changeable given European preferences for integral buses (as opposed to an OEM-supplied chassis with third-party bodywork) these days.
This bus, unless the layout can change to have more seats, I do not think it is suitable for use in Singapore. The capacity is small.
That time I was on this bus on 185 at Jurong West Avenue 1. The bus was very packed. Saw another bus 185 at the back. Alighted one stop later and took the other bus. It was also a single deck - a Scania KUB. Not sure if this is only a coincidence or that bus was meant to follow this bus.
Was on SBS8002T again earlier on, on bus service 185, from 11:26 am to 11:33 am, from Dover MRT station bus stop to Clementi MRT station bus stop.
Quite few people at that time; around eighteen people. Did a rough estimate while on board. I guess the total capacity is around sixty people.
Title is misleading,The bus is not even 12m in length.
maybe LTA or SBST can buy those ComfortDelgro's new Volvo B9L citybus.

As far as I know, 8002T is running as extra bus(?) Not reflected in iris, but will arrive inbetween 2 fixed buses everytime.
Sometimes the frequency can be as good as 5 mins gap(DD > 8030L for example), and maybe worst. Usually, the worst is really jialat one..not sure why they don't want to "even" it out...
