No, because the bodywork number does not begin with VP.

There is a good chance that hybrid buses, if adopted, would be put to use on feeder routes. Perth and Adelaide have been putting them on their free shuttle routes.

If they choose to take this B5RH in, i'm pretty certain the wheelbase will be extended to make it 12m.
Also Hybrid buses runs best on services with a start-stop nature.
The powertrain of the B5RH seems to have been very reliable over the past year and a half. The D5F215 engine is simply a 4-cylinder version of the D7E290. The parallel hybrid concept allows the bus to be powered by the diesel motor only, electric motor only, or a combination of both. The i-Shift gearbox is proven in both truck and bus applications. Volvo insisting on producing only hybrid integral products for the European market is proof of how much confidence they have with their product.

I think that is PRECISELY the service they are gonna put the bus in...
42 has outstanding chance...
And that svc can go WAB simultaneously...
84 also has great chance since it has to turn at Punggol Rd End... Though it already has 1688K

Not to forget the 200 plus B5LH in daily operation under TfL in London, most with the same drivetrain (apart from the newer ones with Euro 6 D5K engine).
Given that is a production hybrid chassis, unlike the development vehicles (sunlongs, zhongtong, and st-kinglong), it should fare much better at least in terms of reliability and fuel consumption.

Yutong has been pushing out production hybrid buses in China for a few years already. Air pollution is quite an issue and Chinese cities are keen to reduce emissions.
The Alexander-Dennis Enviro400H is also quite a common sight in London.

ADL's E400H is pretty good as well, with matching fuel consumption figures to the B5LH on the same routes when operating in London. However as you might have known, their E350H did pretty badly in Sydney.
Unfortunately, TfL has yet to publish public figures for the New Routemasters, but initial figures have put them at a disadvantage (partly due to the additional 0.7m, and also due to additional requirements for conditioning on the upper deck).
On the other hand, always wondered how efficient are the yutong hybrids.
Edit: Given that the bus will serve 143, 143A, 174, 174e, 185, 334 or 506, it should be under SLBP.

East has more MRT and LRT than West. To make it fair, since East has more MRT and LRT than West, West should have more Bus than East.
East get new train. West get new bus.
Win-Win.

- People staying in East will have new trains on North East Line and Circle Line from next year.
- People staying in West will have new buses.

Firstly new buses have NOTHING to do with MRT. Dont know where is this coming from.
And dosent CCL serve the west too -.-"
What about the east then?
The registration of the bus seemed overdue...
how come nowadays demonstrator buses only exist for a short moment only and not remain with SBST or SMRT till end of lifespan? hopefully this bus and SMRT MAN DD will continue for the full lifespan..

It's not nowadays. Infact many demonstrators have been rejected in the past too. SBS30P (Renault PR100.2), SBS1517X (Isuzu BDTIZCHSS), SBS6820L (Leyland National 2), SBS7003Y (Dennis Dominator DDA144) are a few notable examples.
