The route of supplementary Bus Service 123M will be extended to operate between HarbourFront Bus Interchange and Tiong Bahru Road. Its operating hours will be extended from 5.50am to 12.05am from Mondays to Saturdays and from 6.05am to 12.05am on Sundays and Public Holidays.
SBS Transit said in a separate press release that enhancements to two other bus services will also take place in August.
Service 123 will have its route extended from Aug 24 to terminate at the HarbourFront Bus Interchange. With the extension, it will call at eight new bus stops along Lower Delta Road, Kampong Bahru Road and Telok Blangah Road.
A new supplementary service - 131M - will be rolled out from Aug 25 to supplement Service 131 during the morning and evening peak hours. This loop service will serve eight bus stops between the Bukit Merah Bus Interchange and Bukit Purmei Avenue. It will operate on weekdays, from 6.40am to 9.10am, as well as from 5.10pm to 7.50pm.
As service 131M will serve the same route as Service 275, the latter service will stop operating from Aug 25. Commuters who normally take that bus can take 131 or 131M instead.
Enhancements to two SBS Transit bus services will be taking place in the month of August. Service 123 will have its route extended from 24 August, as well as a new supplementary service - Service 131M - will be rolled out from 25 August. With the introduction of Service 131M, Service 275 will be withdrawn.
Service 123
From Sunday, 24 August 2014, the route of Service 123 will be extended to terminate at the HarbourFront Bus Interchange. Currently, the service plies between Bukit Merah and Bukit Purmei Avenue. With the extension, it will call at eight new bus stops along Lower Delta Road, Kampong Bahru Road and Telok Blangah Road
The extended route will provide better connectivity for commuters in the Bukit Purmei area to HarbourFront MRT Station and Bus Interchange. Besides enhancing connectivity to key transport nodes, the extended route will also provide convenient access to amenities such as VivoCity and HarbourFront Centre.
Service 123 will continue to operate from 5.45am to 11.45pm from Mondays to Saturdays and 6.00am to 11.45pm on Sundays and Public Holidays, from the Bukit Merah Interchange. It will also start to operate at similar times from the HarbourFront Interchange
Service 131M
A new supplementary service - Service 131M - will be rolled out from Monday, 25 August to supplement Service 131 during the morning and evening peak hours. This loop service will serve eight bus stops between the Bukit Merah Bus Interchange and Bukit Purmei Avenue. It will operate on weekdays, from 6.40am to 9.10am, as well as from 5.10pm to 7.50pm.
Service 275
As Service 131M will serve the same route as Service 275, the latter service will stop operating from Monday, 25 August 2014. Existing commuters of Service 275 will not be inconvenienced as they can take Service 131 / 131M to get to their destinations. Service 131 operates daily from 5.45am to 12.00am at the Bukit Merah Interchange and from 5.45am to 11.30pm at the St Michaels Terminal.

Service 123
Long expected for service 275 to be re-numbered service 131M (in a way)...it takes me 4 years to see this result.
Good for 123M to operate the whole day. By the way there should be red and white plates for 123M as well...it calls at Bukit Purmei twice in its journey. With this SWT 123A may be withdrawn?
On the other hand, it makes me feel that even 123's extension is as part of BSEP, as it doesn't make sense for 123M to be extended to HarbourFront without 123 being extended.
It is a good decision.
275 was running extremely low loads during off-peak hours with 10-15 pax if there was no 131 and with almost 1-2 pax when there was 131 timing before 275. So didnt make sense.
I think 131M will continue with 2 buses for now, drawn from sv 131... and then with time might reduce to just 1 bus.
131M should be BRBP and not ARBP.
Tehlok Blangah/Bukit Merah estate got many upgrades in recent times
120, 121, 123, 124
It is good move with many of these changes as the connectivity was a little misplaced.
I think of these 120 has still not picked up... but 121 and 124 are doing well.
I also see 123/123M doing v well as people in Purmei will prefer to go to Vivocity for options... at the same time have another MRT option with NEL/CCL at Harboufront.
Wonder why it took so long for the easy change.
But well done!! :)

Also if u noticed, Services 120-124 are all Telok Blangah Estate services and somehow form a route group already

You never know... they might just introduce sv 122 from Hougang to St. Michaels Terminal... just like they introduced sv 49 in Taman Jurong area, when no one expected that number.

service 49
1/2 of 98 lol
if 122 serves that area, swee alrdy lah lol

They can do some shuffling and make space at ARBP if they want.. Like Sv 16/48 can go BNDEP easily...

it's actually a breakthrough for bukit purmei/telok blangah residents, where improvements are made significantly
my friend staying at bukit purmei will be very happy for this
i have seen about 12 pax boarding 120 at opp telok blangah stn bus-stop twrds telok blangah around 5pm plus. the bus is 3/4 full seating. ya, but again before that, the bus got about 5 pax only haha
So might as well adjust the run time of 275 rather than changing the number? LOL

131/131M should be dual depot controlled by ARBP too?

They have changed number to 131M so that it does not need to be operated full day.. 275 off peak bus could have only 5-10 pax.

1 more bus.. You mean 3 buses altogether for 10 min 4-stop route? I think 131M is very good idea because I have seen 275 leave BMR interchange countless times with not more than 5 pax especially when 131 ahead.. And 131 frequency quite good. You gave bus every 10 mins.
good idea for LTA and SBST they made more money from the people who live there. instead of take 131 from point A to make a half an hour visit to friends or shops at point B then take back 275 which has distant fare charge and pay less, now has to pay more. i afraid it going to be a going plan to has M added to service that is the same route as the feeder bus and remove the feeder bus service as feeder bus service make less $$$ for LTA and bus operators. 163M another example LTA can has a feeder service but it don't.

I think LTA will make more money by withdrawing bus services from your place, if that is really what you think.
After all Econs 101 (aka common sense) will tell you that if you wanna make money, you increase profit or reduce loss.
Nobody in LTA is bo liao enough to work hard for people like you to suan for no good reason.

Seriously!? Why such a hue and cry on a service like 275? So many ppl here before also suggested to merge with 131 and remove s275. Have you observed loading? Seriously?
Go and do survey of Bukit Merah Interchange, and you will see off-peak buses leave interchange with 2, 5, 8 pax on consecutive buses. There will be one bus after 3 buses where there can be double digit loading during off-peak. And with 131 still being there, what is the fuss about?
We keep saying we don't want LTA to waste money on stupid services, and 275 was one of them.
I wonder whether they have the intention to introduce a new service which links Bukit Merah Int and Harbourfront via Jln Bt Merah/Lower Delta Rd/Kg Bahru Rd or via Henderson Rd/Telok Blangah Rd? 57 and 131 makes a big round to go to Harbourfront and needless to say on 123 in which no one except joyriders will take this service from Bt Merah to Harbourfront and ivce versa.
