I don't think the discussion of the P-services or city direct should be carried out here as that is an LTA thing, nothing to do with SBS Transit wanting to raise non-basic bus fares.
Unless you are saying LTA should spend those expenses incurred by introducing P/CD to subsidise SBST/SMRTB in other ways such that non-basic bus fares do not go up to lower the loss made in overall bus operations.
Bus fares up on some SBS routes
SBS Transit will raise fares on its 41 non-basic bus routes - the Nite Owl, Parks, Chinatown Direct and Premium services.
The new fares will come into effect on Sunday, Aug 3, the public transport operator said on Friday. It added that the Public Transport Council had approved its application to revise the fares.
Depending on the route, adult fares will go up between 10 and 70 cents.
Adult fares for the six Nite Owl routes will increase by between 10 and 20 cents, while senior citizen fares will go up by five and 10 cents. Student fares will increase by five cents.
For Parks Service 408 and the three Chinatown Direct routes, adults pay 10 cents more, while senior citizens and students will pay five cents more.
Meanwhile, children aged under seven who are now paying a fare on those 10 services will get to enjoy free travel. Those taller than 0.9m will need a vaild child concession card to enjoy this benefit.
SBS Transit will raise adult fares for its 31 Premium bus services by 20 to 70 cents.

I think the government is just wasting money... That's why got fare hike.
Ya man.
Especially considering the amount of money they poured into the education system to churn out folks who do not use their brains when they type one-liners.
