(BNDEP 15) (awaiting lay up/deregistration)Info from SBS9631X, spotted at BNDEP lay up corner parking beside de-registered 898C and damaged from an accident...
Holy crap. Don't put words into my mouth. I did not know how in the world you misinterpreted my post into this, or perhaps I didn't make it clear enough in my post, or perhaps you hadn't been to BNDEP before.
1) I said 'unofficial' lay-up area, because that same area is also the workshop's holding area for all the Citaros and B9TLs and KUBs which have pending checks in the workshop coming up. I do not know the exact status of 1963R as of now, but I was just stating that it was parked beside the de-reg 898C. But surrounding these two are plenty of perfectly healthy KUBs, Citaros & B9TLs.
2) I posted that because I thought that 1963R might be in the workshop for some repairs done to the rear taillights, which might explain why 1942B or 1990L has been on Sv 15 regularly lately despite likely being kicked out of Sv 15 (as they could be temp replacements for 1963R undergoing repairs).
I thought of posting 'unoffical layup area + workshop holding area' in my earlier post, in case people misunderstood the point of that post. But I decided against that because I thought most of us would know that area is used for the workshop too. Turns out you are the one which misunderstood the point of my post.
Maybe 1963R might live to see another day, we shall see. But as of now, I'm not insinuating that bus is awaiting de-reg already. So don't make it seem like I was implying that.
Regards.

I don't frequently observe and remember the layout of BNDEP lay up corner unlike that of AMDEP, probably because I only took glances at it whenever I'm on a Wright doing service 17...it doesn't really occur to me that both are at the same area. By the way the post has been removed, but there seems to be some hints that SBST is getting rid of some MK4s much earlier.
Eariler today, I saw about 4-5 striders & 3-4 DM at BNDEP corner.
2 of the Striders I saw were 1974J & 1969A. The DM with svc 17 side desto & 1969A both have a paper pasted on the windscreen (Too bad I can't tell for 1974J one as it was showing it's rear). Is this a sign for something?

I do feel that all 3-4 DMs mentioned are those from September/October batches, like what SBS9631X mentioned, only SBS898C is parked there a few days ago. But I do feel strongly that SBS Transit want to scrap the MK4s earlier so that the Citaros can come in faster...

1963R 1969A 1974J are all from the same batch during registration though.
It could either be 1) the Striders from that batch are undergoing maintenance all together, or 2) BNDEP is cannibalising the Striders from that batch for spare parts to keep the older ones running first (eg. 1902S 1925B etc).
I last saw 1969A & 1974J this past Sat though (30 Aug) on their respective perms. So abit surprising to see them in BNDEP together, kinda abrupt. I don't recall both buses having any signs of terminal issues lately though.
And anyway, the 3-4 Mk4 DMs you spotted in BNDEP might be the ones already de-regged. The numbers would almost tally - 886L 889D 890Z 898C 902Z

Go see BNDEP on a weekend and it's nearly overflowing nowadays. There used to be lots of parking spaces vacated by the now-CGBP bus svcs, but now those spaces are constantly filled with the newer Wrights and Citaros..
Addon: There is another strider beside 1974J with the same paper seen on 1969A>
SBS891X, SBS899A, SBS985J all gone from the AMDEP lay up corner...
SBS1984E spotted at BNDEP corners among the 3 others striders i.e 1974J & 1969A
Originally posted by bus555:SBS1984E spotted at BNDEP corners among the 3 others striders i.e 1974J & 1969A
Haven't seen 1969A or 1974J back on svc yet so far.
But on another note, spotted 1896B at that same area parked near 1963R last Friday, but today 1896B is back on Sv 359. So idk if those Striders are gone for good or just undergoing the scheduled maintenance.
But there is something fishy about 1963R's missing rear taillight. The rear quarters aren't damaged at all, just the taillight missing.
OT: There's one Wright with significant roof damage parked near the Striders last Friday. Looks like it got showered upon with lots of tree branches to cause that amount of damage.
That wright has being there for awhile le

SBS Transit may just simply select random regos of buses at a time to be scrapped...
