To replace the expired thread(s).
The first buses will go in August. My guess is:
Extended:
SBS2689B, SBS2693M - SBS2698A
Not extended:
SBS2690X - SBS2692R
I really wonder what is the purpose of opening replacements for expired threads when it will still no longer be in use for more than 3 months before the next batch receive extensions...it is completely useless like what happened to the previous expired thread!

Are you referring to Striders? This thread is not about Striders.

Don't you understand what I am saying?
By the way if you haven't mentioned it, I would really find that it is a complete waste of these threads when, e.g. if the models with different bodywork that are de-registering around the same period, they should put it together like the O405s...why is the rule being changed?

You mean all types of the Volvo B10M MK IVs together in this kind of thread, right? If yes, I got you.

Actually this is just my side suggestion...I mentioned that if he had not talked about Striders, I would have reminded him that it is better that all the MK4s are included in this thread, since DM3500s and DMs are de-registering around the same period.
But that is not what I asked him in the first place. My main point is, why do people bother to open lay up and redeployment threads for buses coming near to de-registration dates, especially to replace those expired ones?
Those on the Leyland Olympians, MK4s, SMRT O405s, DAFs and others are completely useless once there is a long break between expiry dates.
For example, in 2012, I opened a Part 2 thread for SMRT O405s because TIB436J's and TIB442R's original de-registration date are more than three months apart (TIB442R's batch is following TIB436J's batch), which result in the part 1 thread expiring due to more than three months of inactiveness.
Without viable information, there is nothing to talk about. The only exception is the Volvo Olympian thread, but that is because I am able to keep it active with some posts to ask on updates. However I am unable to keep every single thread active for some reasons. If you have noticed, I had stopped creating threads for DAFs and O405s, as per the reason stated in the above paragraph.

So ask a mod to remove the DM3500 in the title.

The same thing will happen between 2788 and 2789, more than a year apart
25 Dec 2020 will be last day for B10Ms

Yeah...but actually multiple batches in the DM3500 are already 3 months apart. 3 months of inactiveness is able to make a thread expire.
Till now SBST have not given any extension for all the early batch of DM3500s.
Today marks the deregistration date for SBS2689B to SBS2697C.

Most likely all gone case and even some will have to get scrapped early...
SBS2689B (unofficially laid up/awaiting deregistration)
SBS2693M (unofficially laid up/awaiting deregistration)
...

yup ! infact 2787B Already on 82 for quite some time also
By the way, if the thread was to be active for now, the moderators should just replace 'DM3500' with 'MK4s' such as to reflect the de-registration of different MK4s over the same period of time.
I think the old page for the Mk4 DMs has expired, so I have to post here instead.
Anyway, the first few Mk4 DMs have already been de-registered. Nothing much to search for replacements since the bulk of those were already SP or under TRG, except for the two Sv 39 Mk4 DMs on my side that were de-reg.
I think I have their replacements already, since BN took 886L off the roads months ago and 890Z disappeared after last week before their official de-reg date. But I will wait for next week's Weekdays to confirm again the replacements. Cheers.

Hi 9631X,
Do you know which bus is replacing both of them? Maybe you could tell me and I'll try to help you keep a lookout :)
I seemed to have spotted another DM besides 899A at AMDEP lay up corner parking beside 9383L on 08th August...I think that bus is already awaiting deregistration or perhaps it may have been deregistered...

Most probably SBS891X

My thoughts too.
You mean the VO3X will also be scrapped early? Those extended ones?

Nope, SBS9383L is already de-registered in May 2014 without the second lifespan extension...SBS9370Z, SBS9378C, SBS9383L and SBS9389X are still parked at AMDEP lay up corner, with other new buses blocking them...I presume this is the reason they have yet to be towed out as of 8th August.
