Oh yes... we for sure are a huge complain box.. especially the younger generation who have never seen hardship... and have everything but keep complaining.

when sv133 took over from sv162 for the duties of sv761, one SD was upgraded to one DD.. today is an VO3x on 2611 slot..

Not surprising given the heavy load these days from Sengkang new town during AM peak. But timing is important. It needs to go from Sengkang to TPY during AM peak and not other direction during peak time slot.
Think nowadays LTA added bus for peak hour observation only,Sometimes they anyhow assume pax is increasing during their few days of analysist..In reality become more redundant,Buses bunching like mad,Empty buses,Fuel wasted.What to do?Never increased scared residents write in to media,At least by adding buses they will claim credit.291 notorious of having train like buses...Today only 5 half filled DDs at St 21/Ave 4 traffic lights!
good what any how add buses. election coming and LTA under pressure to get vote for PAP in those WP area and nearby. the DD in 163 service can operate in peak using 163M.

I would rather 163M to stick to single deck buses. It is the full 163 route that needs more DDs especially along the YCK Road near AMK St 64/65 area.

163M? No need for DDs... its loading is SD worthy as sv 50 is faster to MRT... and you have LRT in parallel... only good for those who want to transfer at Punggol road.
163 needs DD from Sengkang to TPY in AM and opp direction in PM.
103 also needs 2 DDs coz of the high loading along Jalan Kayu (thanks to higher occupancy of HDBs that opened last year).

961 can reduce 1-2 split duties,quite redundant always bunching.966 can reduce 2 split duties.969 Wldep side can convert 2 more SDs to DDs or kapo 3 Amdep bendy slots to convert to DDs better.

2-3 years back, 163M used to have several downroute in the morning and 3 trips in the weekday afternoon peak (1 full day KUB and 2 split shifts done by 3161A and 2661E, some 163M trips crossover to 163). But over the months after 50 was introduced, the number of 163M duties were cut (some 163M duties were converted to full 163 route after ett revision).
If I am not wrong, the full day 163M fleet add was implemented only during the GE 2011.

i live close 291 route. too many bus now. alway 2 bus together. if no bunching then different day. think shud cut 2 buses. 2 sds can be cut so still dds there in heavy load time. many time 3 dd come together. so waste la. many time also sd come before dd and people so impatient not wait for dd behind but crowd sd. same 293. now too many bus.
I live at the western loop side..But seldom take buses as i always ride my 750cc bike to work and drive my mpv during off days..But once a while i try to joyride buses..

291 too many S/E/T bus. add on 2 BSEP + PPSS = mass bunching.
At night P shift bus so little until happy waiting

Do you think they should just cut a few buses and replace them with a lesser qty of DDs instead? Eg, say if they were to cut 4 SD buses, but replace with 2 DDs, net loss of 2 buses? Plausible? Increases intervals between buses (less bunching), and the capacity is maintained at roughly the same levels (4 SDs vs 2 DDs) ~
although truth be said, I haven't seen this happening to much svcs in the east-side in recent years. usually it was SD-to-DD upgrades or adding more DDs, not the other way round I'm suggesting now..
