62 DDs now getting abit underutilised already. During peak hours DDs are half full and they bunch tgt and the second one goes empty..
Especially morning 6am-7am each Sv 62 bus comes within 4 mins towards Punggol.. Which is not really needed

Hi mr SBS5010P, 62 is not a bit underutilized la. The morning peak crowd is from Punggol direction to geylang lor 1. There is very heavy crowd in this direction where people go to schools, industries and work. Once these places are settled, the return route will definitely have much lesser people because it is a looping service. Thus you see them bunching and coming back towards Punggol frequently every few mins during morning. This is expected normally.
Once it reaches Punggol field, it serves as a feeder bus for residents to get to Punggol mrt to go work fast in the morning. Some residents still wait for sbs 62 instead of hopping onto LRT because they know that sbs 62 frequency is good only in the morning. At other times, it is more than 10 minutes. Cheers.

In addition to what dupdup mentioned.. It is the only Sv for Sengkajg east dr residents to get to MRT (after Sv 50 turns) and from Upper Serangoon view to HG MRT. In addition, Lor Ah Soo to Paya Lebar also crowded.
return leg few pax but that is for most services in Singapore.
Originally posted by carbikebus:62 can do with 50/50 SDs and DDs..Dunno why but pax has slightly dropped nowadays..Maybe due to the irregular freq that has piss some paxs?
62 pax pretty low in opp direction of peak except for Paya Lebar - Aljunied sector... But current fleet does not need to be changed... Since loading on 62 has not increased... No BSEP or Sd to dd conversion for this service.
Certain DDs on 62 are downgraded to SD during weekends.
sv 123M gets 5 Citaros..
sv 123 same number of buses even after route extension? This means frequency between HF and Tehlok Blangah very good... but Tehlok Blangah to Bukit Merah via Orchard, frequency will be like 14-16 mins.
I think 123M should have got 4 buses... and 1 Citaro should have been fleet add for sv 123.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:Reason for 2 BSEP add on sv 72
I have been told that the 2 BSEP add on sv 72 is because of opening of Tampines Green Leaf HDB complex along Tampines ave 6. Since during AM the frequency is focused around getting pax from YCK to AMK Ave 5 and from YCK Road/HG Ave 9 to HG MRT.. this enhanced frequency will bring higher frequency at Tampines ave 6 for people to go to Tampines MRT or Tampines Ave 10 to change to other services. In addition, HDB Central 8 complex is also slated to open along ave 5 that will boost patronage of sv 72.
PM loading at Tampines MRT is also expected to increase from September. Hope this clarifies the hightened capacity on sv 72.
In future, there could also be downroute in AM from ave 6 if the need is felt.
3411 Really perm 72 ? never see it on 72 recently only see 3412B on this svc instead .

Someone spotted perms stix i think.. last week (Mon-Tue) and the week before 3411D (Wed-Thu-Fri) was on sv 72 though..
Same questions about 3389 on 143 and 3384 on 58 as well... both seem to be running around on other services... so are these really perm?
if you stay ard Lorong Ah Soo You'll know what i'm saying about Sv 62. 6am - 7am towards non-peak direction (Punggol) every bus is 4 mins (Fully/Partially seated - SD/DD) while peak direction (Aljunied) it's 10-15mins per bus!

62 sundays freq is 20mins and also on a normal weekday evening peak freq also 15-20mins. 62's loading has dropped alot compared to last time now it can operate with 40% DD fleet already

This is because of long loop services. Many buses are deployed towards the loop, but after that, less buses are available to be deployed, and they had to wait until the buses reaches Punggol again.
Also, isn't 62A made for a purpose?
62A operates only in the evenings [non-peak direction] towards Aljunied Stn and not from Aljunied Stn towards Punggol. Is my english really hard to understand??
Peak hour crunch for 62 is towards Aljunied in the morning and not the other way round to Punggol. Also u will notice most of the DDs are towards Punggol and by the time they depart from Punggol Int alr reach Lorong Ah Soo / Paya Lebar 8am-9am already

Hi mr SBS5010P, sbs 62 is a loop service. Whatever you see DDs towards Punggol direction is nothing surprising. Since it is a loop, these DDs must have come out from Punggol towards geylang and turned back. There is sufficient load for sbs 62 to have DDs.
Who is to say no demand during non-peak hours? The loading at hougang area is good. There are many construction workers taking this bus and alighting at upper serangoon road too.
So what do you want actually? You want DDs in 1 direction and SD in the other direction? Come on, a bit of empty space on the return direction is nothing to crow about. This happens for many other services in Singapore on the return leg too. I have taken sbs 62 for many times for full journey. Cheers.

Hi mr SBS5010P, nothing surprising. Sbs 62 departs 8 to 9 min per bus from Punggol int. First bus is 5.30am. So when the bus pick up passengers along the way, it is expected to be a bit slower since people take time to board and sit down. So this is equivalent to your 10 to 15 min per bus towards aljunied/geylang.
And of course, this is a loop service. When going back towards Punggol, no of people dries up fast. Thus the 10 to 15 min per bus becomes 1 every 4 to 5 min. Nothing is wrong! Cheers.
sv 72 got many SD on weekends nowdays.
Originally posted by carbikebus:75 also got massive upgrade of buses and during peaks you can see 2-3 buses quarter fill only..
Not surprised because am load to Cbd has increased. When I took 106 the other day, saw 75 was also crowded to door.

hmm.. more like 3412B only the 1 coming to 72 .

Can someone validate this?Does 3411D have perm stix of sv 72 or SP?
From info from users here and FB:
SBS3818P > BNDEP 518 first DD perm
Said to have been included in after the timetable change on 25 August (Monday)...
sv 50 gets double capacity upgrade
Citaro --> DD conversion (HGDEP side with 3393Y)
DD add (AMDEP side with 3411D)
So now sv 50 fleet has 11 DDs, 4 SDs...
** By 2015, you can expect this service to become almost full fleet DD given the # of upcoming flats along Waterway/Punggol Dr and Sengkang West area...

2699Y De-registered, 3818P in.
So in effect, they converted a ASD slot to a WDD slot. Timings at different sectors over the past week I've spotted 3818P tallies with that theory:
1050hrs: PSR Dr 1 Blk 210 bus stop (to Suntec)
1535hrs: PSR Dr 1 outside PSR MRT station bus stop (to PSR Int)
1619hrs: Loyang Ave bus stop (to Suntec)
And then you add in the 1420hrs+ slot near Bras Basah which others have spotted (in direction to Suntec), so you have a Sv 518 DD that's effectively on A/P shift on Weekdays.
So it puzzles me even more why some peeps say they can't find a Sv 518 DD on Weekdays. I'm not sure if 3818P runs on Weekends too, but I think high chance it does since the e-tt change is for all days and not only for Weekdays.
Hope the timings help those who want to sit a Sv 518 DD on Weekdays, cheers.
