Originally posted by carbikebus:Like i said its not the matter of Citaro or A22,but lies in our society attitude..Imagine an auntie place her plastic bags at the seat and Uncle purposely occupied all the seats to deny others,even a 14.5m single decker also useless..To make it worse passengers reluctant to move to the rear also.In India one Volvo single deckers can squeeze as many as 90-95 pax one shot..We Singaporeans do take things for granted…
In Singapore, rarely a Citaro can get more than 68-70 pax, KUB fits in around 72-75 pax. Not more!!
In the seat of 4 on Citaro, mostly the opp direction seats empty. Also rare always more space of 5-6 pax but seldom u will see pax go all the way to back. Very irritating.
I dun get it with the seats facing each other, ppl will feel awkward some ppl wont prefer to sit facing strangers. However there are still ppl who will sit on these seats.. got seats why dun wan sit leh
For 10 on Saturdays:
3 DD > SD downgrades...
BBDEP:
SBS3041M > Random DM3500 (mostly SBS2728Y)
CGBP:
SBS3637U > SBS1989S = SBS3637U (and once SBS9512G) was the Weekends 293/10 bus, but now they have SBS1989S on this slot (now 29S, used to be another slot though!)...
SBS9667T > SBS2633L (occassionally SBS1969A) = This slot, 33T, now uses 81 perm Striders which are on 81 only for Weekdays (so 81/10 slot)...
Sequence = SBS7661Y (19A/27P) > DM3500 (BBDEP) > SBS1989S (29S) > SBS2633L (33T) > SBS7671T (20A/28P)
I think that these downgrades existed after the timetable change on 2 June...

No, 10 needs improvement in the frequency, that's why it has such low ridership and thus so many downgrades... Sometimes the frequency goes up to 20 mins, which is seriously ridiculous. Sometimes, I see buses almost totally empty, others filled up like mad... Anyway, 42 can get that MB.

sv 10 has low frequency?? Where did you spot? Frequency during peak hours is under 10 minutes... off-peak direction loading on sv 10 not high...

Originally posted by carbikebus:Thats the reason,Beside the MB Sprinter produce less noise also..suitable for low ridership svc that plies private housing suchs as 42,317 and 825 though the latter use Coasters which is quite noisy. Btw svc 10 freq is not that bad only recently ridership has dropped..So its praftical to convert some DD slots to SDs..
You got what I mean... (see bolded part) But sometimes the ridership is quite strong at times (noon on Weekdays and at night on Weekends), which can fill up a Citaro or KUB with many standees...

If you see the SBST timetable on their website, you will see that the frequency is very inconsistent... During off-peak hours, it can go up to as long as 20 mins, while during peak it is as short as 3 mins, leading to bus bunching... At HarbourFront Stn (> Kent Ridge Ter), the 7.18p.m. bus (15S, BBDEP) is often (very) late (say 7.28p.m.), which will delay the next bus (35P, SBS7671T from CGBP at 7.34p.m.) by a few minutes, often reaching at around 7.40p.m. (If the bus is on time, the frequency goes down to as low as a few minutes, making the next bus come only 14 mins later at 7.48p.m.).
carbikebus, I took SBS7671T on 10 from HarbourFront Stn at the 7.34p.m. slot on Weekdays a few times, so I am aware of the frequency around 7p.m. as I wait for the bus... From those rides, I would say that 10 has a loading at around 20 pax at around this time. I guess the loading is heavier from CBD to the east at this time...

this week is crossover from 27 during pm peak. I saw 2 113 buses departing kovan stn. Checked schedule all the buses were arriving on time +\5 mins. At 6.53pm shud be 921T only but ytd i saw a random citaro bunching wih 921T. There is alr a 113 in front at Lorong ah soo already.
I didnt see the citaro during afternoon so shud be crossover ba
113 PM peak hour run time can go up to 1hours20mins max.
113's ett nvr change but on SBST side they added buses
Now 113's freq at kovan stn quite good le. 5 - 10mins for 113 or 113A
SBST now very smart, deploy citaros to cater to the timings where pax no need squeeze and kubs/mk4 to cater to the timings where alot of pax cant board or having hard time to squeeze
Fleet add for Sv 22, 45, 72
3410G --> AMDEP 22
3411D --> AMDEP 72
3413Z --> AMDEP 45
* Sv 45 cruising near 50% DD fleet... Simply amazing considering that until 2012, it had only 2 DDs in its fleet.. I think this Sv has had the highest improvement, even more than Sv 43
* Love that AMDEP is pretty quick to deploy its WEGs ... Except for 3347/3348 that I feel are purposely kept SP.
Originally posted by carbikebus:And for the additional DD on 45,This morning spotted lots of 45 DDs only half full..
Many long distance travelers on sv 45. Hence, I like the decision to put more DDs for this service. Also lot of ITE students take sv 45 to Serangoon and Jalan Eunos areas. Observed people who board along AMK Ave 10 only start alighting from Serangoon onwards in PM and in AM, most ppl alight along Eunos Link.
