The malaysian built chassis assembled in zhuhai china have the chassis code of EMTLXXXX, while the ones built in UK are tagged DGTLXXXX.
One easy way to seperate the vehicles without looking at the rego plates are to look for the holes for foglight on the front bumpers. UK demos have them, while the zhuhai built ones does not.

SMB5001A & SMB5002Y may or may not be the uk demos, but they are demos for different part layout & weight...
Our SMRT E500 chassis were shipped from UK to HK, then transported to Zhuhai for assembly... Quite a number of our chassis were shipped together at that time, so we'll probably have to wait for next 2 months before we see the Malaysia build chassis E500 here...
Other than the differences you mentioned, there are more between the actual UK demo, SMB5001A & SMB5002Y... These 3 demos differences are easy to spot... The production batch will then see the final results of the placement...
For your info, SMB5002Y is currently the only one with 14800KG unladen weight... The rest are 14680KG...
We'll see if the actual UK demo follows 14800KG or 14680KG when time comes...

license plate under smb 35xx is under LTA BSEP. I think those buses brought under BSEP will in 2017 use for contract operators.
951E should be getting those E50D first bah

How to take you seriously when you do not even have the correct VIN of 3366 3367 and 3368. Check your VINs posted in your previous posts and with OM.
As for chassis with G (Guildford UK built) and M (Malaysian built), refer to ATEnviro's FB page for more details.
All of the production batch E500 will be built by a chassis partner in Malaysia, then shipped to Guangtong bus in Zhuhai for Bodywork assembly before being shipped back to Singapore.

Could you confirm that partner is Sime Darby? I remember this company is better known for their plantation business.

I am unable to confirm as I dont have images of them being built there, but it has been stated on their website that "It also has signed a supply agreement with Alexander Dennis Ltd for manufacturing of bus chasis [sic] for Asia Pacific region."
I reckon these should be the E500 chassis since apac region dont have other high volume ADL chassis being used.

That's alright, I will try and run it through my academic database when I have the time.
I almost mixed up with Masdef, which has a partnership with Wrightbus. It appears the fastest growing place for bus manufacturing is now in Asia (or more specifically, Malaysia).
The SMRT DD should have debut the roads by now. How much more testing time?

not testing may be for drivers to get to know the bus well before it actually on service. maybe middle of the month? there will be news on media if smrt start using the bus.
SMB3501 should be KJDEP.... not sure whether today it is being deployed or not, cos it went back to KJDEP at around 1030am.... and it is driven by a SL....

It really seems that there are already fixed replacements of bendies on 184 and 964...box bendies are like cameoing around other services, which would then receive DDs...
One DD spotted at BP. Could be training
