SBS3387R - 143M
With Hanover EDS today...by the way which other BSEP Wrights currently on service have Hanover EDSes other than 3387R and 3389K?
By the way, SWT 143A has been confirmed to be withdrawn with effect from today.
maybe lta should have another 143M runing to route from chinatown to toa payoh on top of the normal route. let say 143P, during friday and weekend and eve-holidays and holidays and making semi-express to toa payoh after scout road and from newton road. this will help mrt crowding problems. never all buses in SD and private operators runing the service.
143M seems to be having 3 WEGs, 2 Citaros.. i think 1 bus is extra.. 4 is good enough according to me.

They should redesign the berths. Berth 4 should have 79/143/143M
105/52/183/506 together
333/334/51 together
78/98/98M together
66/160/335 together
97/97e/197 together
How is the load after one week?!?

Just takes load from 143/79 bro... loading is decent but has to be evaluated in totality with 143/79 whose loading must have dropped in the same sector.
I wonder why 51 don't have 51M???

Basically 51's route from Jurong East to Pandan Gardens is nearly identical to 143's route from Jurong East to Teban/Pandan Gardens...there is no need for an extra nearly identical route.

But doesnt 143 loop around Teban Gardens before it goes to Pandan. Basically Pandan residents have a raw deal.
Teban residents anyway have high frequency DDs from 79/143...
Pandan residents have only 51 to JE with 10-15 minutes frequency... no one living there will want to take 143/143M to JE but have to because of 51 unpredictability.
they should have introduce 51M and loop at west coast road instead of 143M. at least it benefits west coast residents going to jurong east also.

If you haven't noticed, I said the words 'nearly identical'. Without the Teban Gardens loop, 143's route to Pandan Gardens is completely the same as 51's route. As to why 51M is not introduced, I will leave it to you guys and SBS Transit.

Hi mr SBST, i think sbs 143M will benefit more. Purpose is to create direct link for both teban and pandan residents. For current west coast residents, not much issue. That is the problem. When one has it, others will want too. Cannot satisfy everybody.

Was waiting for 51 at opp ayer rajah cc bus stop just now. Overheard 2 ppl conversation on 143M. Saying it keep looping at teban. They were waiting for 51 also. I check iris and the Next and subsequent is 25mins. A 143 just depart the bus stop not long ago. 143M came minutes later and i decide to board it. No point waiting for 25mins for 1 bus. But the poor 2 fella would rather wait for 51 instead of taking 143M. The point is 143M is there to benefit teban more. As bus analyser had said, teban already have 79/143. There is really no need for 143M. 51M would seriously be better.

Hi mr SBST, they saw the problem with sbs 51 and sbs 143 and they decide to implement sbs 143M to go one loop to teban and to pandan and back to west coast then to teban again and to JE. Surely it will solve most issues but left a minority at pandan who feel it should not go back go to teban to JE. It should directly leave pandan for JE. In this case, for a pandan resident, at best a 8 to 10 min loop at teban. It should at least alleviate the waiting time a little. They cannot expect to appease everybody.

As a pandan resident myself, i can take 143M and loop or walk out to JTH road. From what i observe during morning rush hours, majority of people will still take 51 or walk out to JTH road.

I have seen you never reply to the real issue and find a way to only justify.
The issue here is Teban Gardens already have 79/143 with lot of DDs and good frequency for residents there to go to JE.
Pandan residents don't have that luxury. Only Sv 51 that too which comes all the way from Hougang... By the time bus comes to Pandan, can be 20-25 mins before earlier bus coz of traffic with bunching issue very common.
if intent was to connect Pandan and Teban residents and to JE.. The purpose would also be achieved to have the route go via Teban Crescent, Penjuru, Teban and Pandan to JE... This way would have also provided connectivity to Penjuru road residents that have only Sv 30 in one direction...
that would have helped more people and in one go resolved issue of Pandan residents. Now what you have to say, mr dd77?

See my note below.. If LTA uses a little more brains and thought, everyone can be pleased.

Hi mr BusAnalyser, initially when they implement sbs 143M, I thought it will be like this. JE -jurong town hall rd -teban gardens-west coast rd -pandan gardens -jurong town hall rd -JE. Just like the old bus service 241 many years ago. However when I read the actual notice, it was pandan gardens back to west coast road and then teban gardens road then jurong town hall road back to JE. I could not think of any other reasons other than to connect pandan gardens and teban gardens by direct link. One more reason will be pandan gardens residents will still have a somewhat faster but albeit roundabout journey to JE. This will still be better than sbs 51. What can we really do?
