Somemore, you have 72A and 72B as SWTs...

Yes agree. Really no more need to create 72C or any other variations just for 1 service. Cheers.

I took service 241 even before it becomes renumbered to 331. Confirm It only loops teban gardens in 1 direction. Dont understand why this 143M loops in both directions when 51 frequency is clearly the issue.

Hi mr SBST, you are right. Sbs 241 loops teban gardens then pandan gardens then straight goes to jurong town hall road to jurong east interchange. Yes sbs 51 frequency is a very big issue due to the suoer long journey. This is why i believe sbs 143M is introduced. Why it has to go both direction is i believe they have given it a lot of thoughts before implementation. By going both directions, it will still be much faster than sbs 51. Moreover, those at west coast road (other end) have another direct link to jurong east. The whole area consisting of many residents and blocks of flats do not have to depend on the 4 trunk services (sbs 51, 78, 79, 143) which are very unpredictable at times. By introducing sbs143M, this unpredictability is minimised as basically sbs 143M is a 7 days full day service.
Strange, poster did not indicate frequency... scareli like another 163M... already pissing off fernvale residents...

should be around 10 mins max.. and no wonder so many BSEP wrights are registered this month...
Originally posted by dupdup77:So now everybody should know why I was so insistent on connecting teban gardens and pandan gardens estate when there were calls to amend sbs 143 by taking out the direct linkage for pandan garden residents in this forum. There is this link to be preserved and LTA has even introduced an additional new bus service sbs 143M to highlight this importance. Cheers.
May be you will soon see 143 amended to go directly from Teban Gardens to West Coast without doing Pandan gardens with introduction of 143M. I think we agreed that a SWT will solve the problem. Hopefully now Teban residents who form majority of 143 pax towards Clementi can save 5 mins by saving Pandan loop.

I think it must be because they want 143 to skip Pandan Gardens in future by having 143M.

Yes but we are complaining that 163 has already lost load towards Sengkang...
This service was not highlighted in the upcoming new services. The one that was highlighted was around Lor 1 Geylang.
I reckon 143A will be withdrawn since it duplicates 143M.

Operating hours end later...unless SBS Transit wanted 143M to terminate at Pandan Gardens rather than looping back after a specific time at night...
my friend staying at the new BTO flats (blk 23 there) at teban garden says the introduction of 143M is a good idea. she says 143 everytime very crowded

I agree that 143M may use BSEP Wrights.

143A will definitely cease

SBST and SMRT will definitely need to take time in familiarising and bringing back more bus services.
look like the idea of 163M. maybe 143A should start from toa payoh to chinatown and loop back to toa payoh

Hi mr BusAnalyser, now I seriously doubt they will amend sbs 143. With sbs 143M, some crowds may be diverted off sbs 143 because teban gardens residents will choose to go jurong east mrt/int. The rest will still take sbs 143, giving them faster journey in the process even when going by pandan gardens. By introducing sbs 143M, they are also hoping it will indirectly help even out sbs 51 frequencies at the initial portion of the journey. Cheers

143M for the residents of TG is appreciated but should renumber as it is a feeder route...
If it is 10mins, it is great, 163M comes haphazardly...

OT a bit, 163M doesnt even have any proper schedule to begin with...
Central planning unit should have a proper schedule for 163M nt at 50mins a bus...
If they cant do it, remove 163M and improve freq of 163...
Fernvale is more populated and the route of 163M has seen an increase in passenger load with more families moving in
TPY to Chinatown is adequately served by existing 143 fleet...
It is the cruncher from JE to TPY due to heavy traffic that is holding back 143 from arriving punctually...

Bro, do u realise that most new services introduced was bringing back those that were rationalised(parallel routing)/withdrawn(low demand).
New links between towns have yet to be materialised, eg the said svc from SGN to BPJ/SBW... or Kembangan to M Parade...
Possibly using BSEP WEGs 3385 - 3390?

I am a little surprised because now they even have 79 at 07-08 minute frequency with almost full fleet DD. Few years back TG residents had to rely on 143 only as 79 had shitty frequency of 15-20 minutes and majority SD fleet then.
Now days, I have seen 143/79 taking the load very well.
The problem is Pandan Gardens, where residents have to rely only on 51 and dont take 143 due to its long winding loop.

But my friend, what is the real value of 163M now after 50 can take you faster to MRT and even Punggol road. I think 163/163M together serve Fernvale residents pretty well. SBST163 around to comment?

BTW, I ever saw most people in the 163 queue board a 163M bus (SBS8389C) before, probably because they are mostly residents in Sengkang...
