Adding on, the upcoming Jewel at Changi Airport/Terminal 5/High speed rail bet SG/Msia, it is all shifting to a more service-oriented economy from manufacturing hub due to high costs of labour/land, reducing the high dependency on financial services and growing the services sector in Tourism, hospitality sectors which means more "non standard hours".
Night buses running across SG are affordable prices as an alternative to Taxis will then be a norm...
Originally posted by carbikebus:acx, the facts is SMRT is losing money for the estates towards City bound,to add more the BCs also dont bother to switch off the engine thus contributing to more wasted fuel.I have ever drive NR1,NR6 & NR7 and to tell you there is no more than 5 pax utilise it towards city..waste time
Hi mr carbikebus, yes you are right. I took it before for direction towards city. Better terminate the service towards city direction. If not, they may even do the inevitable which is to terminate all night services in both directions in months to come when they bleed even more money. Cheers.
Aiya nowadays students and NSF all got $$..Like i said companies wont bother to operate jusg for the sake of 5-6 pax towards city.Unlike SBST which got the $1.50 if you travel for a fewer stops withing estates SMRT doesnt apply that.
On the other hand SMRT night service only earns from City to estates during the last 2 trips only based on surveys.Thats is why SBST so smart to only operate from City to home rather than looping...Singapore govt mindset,no money to go late midnight hangouts then dont come out..just like car coe,no money to pay coe then dont drive..sounds cruel but reality hurts bro
