Anybody takes Bus 171 in the morning?

I board at upper bukit timah area. It's always a long wait and some times the buses won't even stop (though you could see there's room for me). Worst is the bus drove past you after a good 20mins wait!!

This is typical of SMRT buses. When they are late, they just skip stops. I have noticed this often on 854. It will overtake buses that are at a bus stop, assuming there will be no takers for 854. Very typical for 854 to skip stops around Hougang Depot. -

Also... when do you observe this? And where do you take 171 to? 171s route has alternate options also for travel. -
I experienced this on 963R and 858.
For 963R, i waited for 20 mins for this bus, i saw the bus at the back and there are 3 SBST buses in front. Instead of queueing, 963R (SMB342Z) just went off without stopping. Driven by PRC driver. This made me pissed off
For 858 same thing, 3 buses in front, 858 didnt queue up, instead just skip stops and i saw some pax were like puzzled why 858 skipped stop, it caused some great inconvenience

It's not always about trying to be on time... Ever got off at a bus stop to catch a 855 bus (SMB175P), but there was a bus (SMB256P on 167) behind the one I got off (SBS3018G on 166) and took up the whole bus bay, so SMB175P had to skip the bus stop and I missed it... So, the 855 BC had to skip the bus stop because he would obstruct traffic if he stopped in the lane (the traffic was rather heavy at Upper Thomson Road that day)...

Ha ha... True, but then again I don't blame the BC for skipping the bus stop. He was just worried about the safety of others on the road... I like these drivers

meanwhile 75 and 184 also hardly stop along upp bukit timah in morning peak, because they are full to the max.

You are so funny... If the last memory you have is 2011, then it is already very good... I can tell you 10 instances in 2014 itself with 854/190. -
