was TIB1030P on airshow shuttle today? it didnt appear on its usual 172TQ02 slot today..SMB103Y replaced it instead...

I think buses with new livery are not stablised yet, especially those older buses like 30Z, 140P, 3021E, 3022C, 3023A etc...they can still be spotted floating around services even though they seem to stick to one service for a period of time..

I saw it Off Svc around 1 plus along Wlands Rd ferrying few BCs...

Haven't seen it on Airshow shuttle yesterday though~ or maybe it was on the Shuttle but I didn't spot it.
Originally posted by carbikebus:SMRT buses overworked, wonder if they got do maintenance or not before Airshow?
I doubt so? SMRT does more of corrective maintenance (which I mean happens when something major fails on the bus, eg the engine cannot start, engine fire, explosive tyre blow-outs, crashes). If there's minor issues like electronics not working correctly, or the cleanliness onboard the buses, they usually don't fix it leh, until something else major fails on the bus.
SBST does more of preventive maintenance instead? They clean their buses & service their buses more regularly though, to prevent future problems from happening.
I've not seen a SBST bus experience a tyre blow-out yet lately, only spotted one VO3x with a partially deflated tyre along a route. But for SMRT, i've seen quite a few Bendies & Rigids having explosive tyre blow-outs (which if you put into F1 or motorsports context, means the tyre rips apart completely into fragments leaving the rim exposed and the fragments of the disintegrated tyre on the road behind). That's quite a difference.
And then the difference in cleanliness..I think this one everyone knows by now uh.

Both companies not very good in cleanliness now... Even the ZF Wrights under SBST have dirty aircon ducts and noisy engines (for both gearboxes)...

I have to admit SBST does a better job in servicing. I have ever saw one 180 bus with the A/C duct painting wearing off and showing it, I suspect they sprayed the whole thing though.
