I believe 66 will be shortened from JE Interchange to loop @ Bukit Timah Plaza or extended to Holland Village via Ngee Ann.
i rather 66 remain the way it is.. dosent mean it duplicates the mrt it should be taken away. not like as if any train svc here is so reliable. Sometimes some prefer getting a seat / comfort or just prefer the bus .. havent they made that mistake in the past by removing so many svcs .. and then attempt to re-introduce them .. and when train breakdown "hahahaha"

Maybe extend to CBP? Also, those bus routes looping @ Siglap should be extended to CBP too.
May be 854 gets cut short to Eunos, given that 25 is in parallel until HG ave 2/ AMK ave 3 junction, not hurting any travelers.

Decisions need to be taken based on demand. If after DTL, demand on 66 or 171 is not there on particular sectors, some changes would make sense. After all for anything in life, adapting to change is important.

My prediction for DTL rationalisation: Route 180 to be extended to YIS following 171 route. Route 67 amended to MCT via 171 route. As a result, Route 171 in itself becomes redundant. Route 66 amended to provide cover between LTI, Geylang Serai & BDK (due to loss of 67). Route 65 possibly withdrawn. HBF to LTI covered by NEL.
First, no changes should be made at least for 6 months after DTL is operational. Operators should monitor loading patterns to make appropriate changes.
171 should be edited to do Yishun to CCK
180 can stay the way it is
67 could go to MCT (not bad suggestion)
65 could still do HF to Tampines but from Little India follow sv 67's route to Tampines with full fleet DDs as today
66 can continue to operate as alternative to DTL for both Bukit Timah and UBI/Bedok corridor.

Speaking of which, some existing BDK routes better off starting their trips from EUN. 9 & 35 are good candidates.
What advantage does either provide? For 9, you have sv 2 in parallel until Simei.
cant u guys keep this thread on topic??it is for press release. not for any other discussion.. we have so many other threads for discussion on bus routes...

854 extend to tampines or changi point?

I think 854 will get posted to Eunos as there is sv 25 in parallel to Bedok. Also you really need 854 for the Eunos-YCK-Yishun sector. So smaller route, more buses, better frequency.
What about Press Releases (Part 1)? Only 7 pages although half year already.

This thread was meant to be a sequel to Press Releases in 2013.
Actually, as compared to last year's, this year's one is progressing at a higher rate. If we keep up this pace, this thread will have more pages than last year's (9 pages) by year end.

Well, if possible, we can merge the 'press releases' thread of various years into 'Press Releases (Part 1)', 'Press Releases (Part 2)', 'Press Releases (Part 3)', etc...
Otherwise, we shall continue to have new 'Press Releases' thread every year.

I had suggested you when you created this thread... that something like Press Releases should be preserved and instead of having a new thread every year, we could just have a thread on Press Releases, that would at least be a collection of 4-5 years.
Good evening friends!
I have created a new 'Press Release' thread titled 'Press Releases (part 5)'.
Let's continue our discussions at the new thread.
Have a good day, Happy learning!

Looks like the mods did not appreciate your efforts. Actually, you did a good thing. Bravo!

This is just for press release. Not for Any discussion. They have so many threads down there for discussion n I dun see any press release regarding DTL but they are talking about DTL rationalization ??
