"Commuters at Tampines bus interchange were greeted by Grassroots Advisers Mr Mah Bow Tan and Mr Baey Yam Keng during the launch of Peak Period Short Services (PPSS) 291P and 293P on 24 June 2014. Residents can now look forward to shorter waiting times and more comfortable rides during peak hours with the launch of the two new PPSSs. Tampines residents felt that the additional buses would definitely help to improve their travel experience and that the improvements were timely. The 27-year-old bus interchange also underwent several key facelifts. Residents can now enjoy a cooler atmosphere, wider walkways and barrier free access within the interchange. Since the launch of Bus Services Enhancement Programme (BSEP) in 3Q 2013, Tampines residents now enjoy better frequencies of bus arrivals and more services for better connectivity.
Come 4Q 2015, a new bus interchange will be constructed in the vicinity to complement the existing interchange. An additional 12 bus lots will be provided at the new interchange to enhance the bus services at Tampines in the future.

funny leh... u complain about Bididari interchange and say that it should accomodate at least 10-12 services when there is much lesser housing units there? now u are saying that it is enough for this tampines north interchange? it does not mean necessary 4 new services.. it can be extension of certain services to tampines north...

Please show me where I said Bidadari needs 10-12 services? Please show me. Also Bidadari interchange is connected to MRT unlike Tampines North, so should definitely have more slots... but never said for 10-12 services.
Also you have CBP close by which gives you scope for another 4 services. You cannot compare tomorrow Taman Jurong Terminal to CBP, can you? Each one is different depending on the area it serves and the infrastructure in the surrounding area.

Hi mr Sbeesg, thanks for the info. The new bus interchange is tampines north interchange right? Or is it an additional interchange in addition to tampines interchange and tampines north interchange? Can you enlighten us? Thanks.

Hi mr TPS Timothy Mok, I know that there is no space in tampines int long time ago la. You misread my question. What I want to know is will there be 3 interchanges (the new one said by the newsletter plus current tampines int plus future to be launched tampines north int as said by HDB) or will there be 2 interchanges (current tampines int plus tampines north int=said by newsletter)? Cheers.
SINGAPORE - The notoriously-crowded SMRT bus service 190 that plys Orchard Road is no longer a frustration for Bukit Panjang residents these days. The introduction of new bus service number 972 under the Government's ongoing Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP) has taken the heat off service 190 since last November. The new service runs a similar route, from Bukit Panjang to Orchard Road.Last October, a frustrated commuter uploaded a video showing how she could not board 13 buses in a row because they were all full. SMRT has also since added more buses to ply the popular route to reduce peak hour crowding. On Wednesday morning, The Straits Times found that bus 190 arrived at intervals of one to three minutes in front of Blk 270 Bangkit Road in Bukit Panjang, from 7am to 7.30am - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/transport/story/morning-commute-improves-bukit-panjang-residents-new-bus-route-201410#sthash.7roVirMW.dpuf

AM is not problem for 190. PM is the problem bcoz BPJ residents board 190... leaving CCK residents behind.. last time the video was posted by CCK resident who could not board bus.
Ofcourse 972 has helped a lot for ppl along BPJ ring do not need to transfer by LRT/920/922 to 700/190 anymore.

When they do planning for new towns, they should allocate enough space for bus interchanges. To save space they can make it within mall - that is okay. But have sufficient lots for multiple services.
Bidadari, Tengah, Woodlands North, Tampines North all should have big interchanges. Upset to see that Bidadari interchange will have only 5 services (at least the press release says so).
see what u say previously..all these new interchanges should be BIG?. now u change your tone and say that Tampines north no need big interchange?

I notice all the bus stops involved are those shifted after year 2009, probably after the Distance-based fares system was implemented.
Some bus stops (eg. the pair along 181/185) were shifted in year 2011/2012 but until now then the distance updated.
