I wonder why 119's DDs are still there. 43, 130 need more DDs.
you so good you run SBS transit and stop complaining
Hahaha
is the load from 49 need DD buses?
In my honest opinion just 2-3 DDs enough.Sometimes the loading is pathetic. .4 Citaros & 3 WEGs enough.
maybe 4 might need one soon
4 for the time being need timing revision and probably need extra split shift buses..
yes.... 4 needs s-shift.
some services, always look full with single deck...... you put double deck, you see it running around empty.
hanor. stupid de loh .
off-peak hours chut DD
peak hours chut SD 挤æ»äºº
43 and 50
With low floor buses like Citaros and A22s even 50 passengers do look full..

LOL. Peace time!
I went for a one week holiday to Europe, so have not done my quota of 4 peak buses. Just done one till now in week 1 when loading was decent. Plan to do the rest this week and then will post.
You should monitor JIS which svc dont need full DDs

I had the same question. So I have actually monitored all JIS services during peak hours. Each bus takes 80-120 pax between 06.45 and 08.15am in morning peak. Other way round buses come totally empty. I am not sure if the buses should run uni-directional during this time slot - at least services 249, 251. For 182,192, 193, 252, 254, 255, 257 they have other loading points at Joo Koon, Tuas in opposite direction though that loading is far less worthy of DDs.
Evening peak, the loading gets distributed. I counted for 246, 249, 251, 252 the number of pax alighting at Boon Lay Interchange (easier to do than for 182, 254). The number of pax varied between 50 - 70 pax for 246, 251. For 249 and 252 was more for certain buses but far lesser than AM peak as the peak hour in PM is more spread out.
I also feel the frequency of certain JIS services like 249, 252 needs improvement and one BSEP bus should be added each.
Actually SDs should be use during Sundays and Public Holidays. My Uncle drive JIS say the most is 1/2 loading during Sun/PHs...He ever drive DM3500 and KUBs on JIS and the most is few standees.

Agree Sun, PH should be all SDs also no problem. What did your uncle say about weekday loading? Matches my observation?

It's funny how BSEP on 246 seems to mean just adding one Wright (SBS3325U) and that's it. They should make some of thse buses SD and have more buses than just six. Not sure for the other JIS services, but since 246 also serves some neighbourhoods like mine...
Weekdays peak hour loadings can cover the off peak loadings revenue liao.0615-0825 super packed, then after 9-13.30 a bit cool down,After 1500 packed again due to factory shift timings and the realloadings after 17.45-2100..Even at night from 21.45-22.15 loadings can be berserk.Saturdays mostly morning and early afternoon and after 15.30 BCs can shaking already.Sundays and PHs each JIS can use 2-4 DDs the most

I think 246 is okay now with 7 buses. It is mainly meant for industrial area. For Taman Jurong area now also have 49 along with 98, 240. On the other side of Lakeside, you have 240 with superb frequency. Adding more buses to 246 is wasting resources.

But Sundays/PH, already using very few buses. DDs are important for week days because many of these services have spot loading when shift time ends. SDs cant clear the load at this time. + Most JIS services don't have very good frequency, so better to have DDs. Also many JIS area not covered with services also. I expect after Joo Koon opens, this will change.
On the other hand SBST done a great job deploy 1 more S DD on svc 293.What they need now is exchange 1 full SD to 1 full DD.I see svc 10 nowadays loadings has also slightly dropped. But justified leh the number of SDs they deploy.69 also doing well.

True, though for Off-Peak hours they should deploy Citaros and VO3x rather than the latter and a Wright.
No need SDs for Weekdays but a mix of DD and SD for weekends and holidays is better. At least the DDs can rest or cameo on other svc.246 also siao2 leh,dun underestimate it.
