I would prefer KUB, since it's much cooling than taking the "burning" Citaro.
but in terms of engine, I think Citaro picks up SLIGHTLY faster than KUB.
and Citaro is not so jerky than KUB.
and the engine sound is nice to hear.
I would prefer a KUB to serve me though, (I dun mind it jerky)
if there's a Citaro having cool aircon, I will put it as my rep!
Citaro is for the quiet people... K230UB Euro IV actually nicer than Euro V, because Euro V got super loud radiator sometimes... I also prefer the engine sound and Denso aircon, rather than having a slightly more comfortable, but usually much noisier ride...
I don't mind the noise, just taking it as background noise. LOL
I hate seating at the back is: the seat always beri hit due to engine.

Yea that sucks if you get heat sting from the metal... The Euro IVs seriously is my prefered batch...
Euro V Batch 2 worse than Batch 1
depending on the bus service & loading.
for example, I prefer having Citaros on 109 and having KUBs on 27.
no explaination. it just "feels right".
Citaros. Especially the 60 series and 61 series.
Loud howling radiator maintenance issue, happens to B9TLs too
Citaro a let down due to Voith transmission for SBST and to make it worse,Speed limit restrict its potential.SMRT ones can run but maintenance sucks
KUBs should try the JB reg ones later.Actually if all city buses restrict to 70kmh the performances is different, look at Malaysian K250/270,Their Darts and under 8000cc citybuses...
OFC citaro lah!
Much smoother ride... When I grab onto the hand straps on the KUB I will get splinters on my hand lol... Coz of all the jerking
And the EEV is the worst I've taken of all buses...
EEV is Batch ?
So u dun mind the burning Citaro lah?

Euro V. In fact, I agree with him. The Euro IVs are nicer for me... Just the Coolair EDS not so good...

Same here.
but E5 got Becuz can peek at the driver by seating at the left arch seat
KUB only for aircon and certain bus the engines are not that noisy though. there are quite a number of Euro V KUBs had their radiator repaired or even didnt made a single noise since debut. But mainly why it is roaring like mad is because the engine oil has overheated and need change. But one think i dont like is the SMC doors, loose and noisy when it go thru bumps esp the exit door. Once it goes thru a series of road cracks, it just goes "crack crack crack" is like the doors will drop off anytime. The suspensions not all are bad, some still quite smooth.
For citaro, the aircon i can say it has improved alot. now even on cold days, u can see mist on the entire bus at night. And most citaros speed has improved also. Like the starting torque is the most impt when moving off. As for suspension, it literally feels like you are floating in the bus .. haha

Roaring radiator nothing to do with engine oil,its mainly the fan clutch always engage thus thermostat also gone case make it roar.If u say engine oil need change due to overheat then why some cdge on 21 keep on running for months with that roar radiator?
I prefer the Citaro over the KUB. But there are some nice KUBs like the demo, SBS8301E and those with nice engine and gearbox sound especially some of the Euro 5 Batch 2s.
I think the OC is a better comparison to the KUB, while Citaro should be compared to the A22s.
Both buses I like. Each bus have its own strong point and weak point
i like both. but KUB is better despite the noise especially the Euro Vs
citaro pick-up very slow. then at the back, the standing space very narrow.
my mum don't like citaro because of that narrow standing space at the back.
KUB has higher capacity than Citaro. KUB should be used for higher demand services that can't use DDs. In the case of 27, KUBs have to be used to carry all the passengers. The Euro IVs have more standing space and are not as noisy. DDs are for services that have a very high demand. But the route must be DD-friendly. Otherwise, use KUB Euro IV.
I don't like the KUB coz it proved to be wasted under the hands of the wrong bodywork...
KMB KUBs are better and are comparable to the A22s, but it did not use Gemilang...
I will be honest with you, although I love the OCs but they will also do better with other bodywork...
Surpurisingly the A22s turned out great with Gemilang...

Hmm if u say the A22s are great, then try the Lion's City integral units when you get the chance, those are even better than the gemilang ones.
Between Citaro and KUB, i prefer the Citaros but the best SD still goes to the B10BLE CNG. A combination of good interior layout with well padded seats, very powerful aircon, solid bodywork with one of the best ride quality (thanks to the suspension).
TBH, at least 138Y performance were somehow better than these production batch...

SBS8262J also very nice
