All I want for 2014

My wish list:
1. Have WAB DDs on SMRT trunks and (more) WAB bendies on SMRT feeders and Intratowns;
2. Retain WRI;
3. Make 159 WAB ASAP;
4. 20 to be extended to PSR;
5. Everyone here to have a happy new year.

1. Volvo B9L for SBS.
2. MB Citaro G for SMRT to replace some of O405G Mk1, don't mind if old generation model.
3. SMRT DD trial to suceed and have many more DD to replace rigids and some bendies.
4. An alternative service to 27 that uses DDs.
5. Adblue tank for WLDEP so OCs and Citaros could return, and for the future since Euro 6 MAN engines also uses adblue.
6. (Personal wish) More interesting cameos, more rides on B10Ms, B10TLs, OCs and Citaros, less rides on KUBs. -
As a resident staying in Jurong West, my wishes regarding buses would probably only be implemented in 2015 when Joo Koon Bus Interchange. Almost everything is held back in Jurong West because of the new bus interchange, which would probably see a new set of bus routes from Joo Koon Bus Interchange, and affect some existing bus routes from Boon Lay Bus Interchange and possibly Jurong East Bus Interchange.
Anyway, my wish for 2014/2015 regarding buses:
- 1. More long bus routes in Jurong West Extension (Nanyang and Gek Poh). Taman Jurong, Boon Lay and Hong Kah have long bus routes that go to areas such as Bukit Batok, Bukit Merah, Bukit Timah, Bedok, Bishan and beyond. It would be good if a few of them can be extended into the extension area, adding on to bus routes 99 and 185 already there, and ply roads which are not served by 99 or 185.
- 2. To resolve the issues regarding bus service 179 and 179A, I wish that SBS Transit could work with NTU and have customized “peak” and “off peak” periods (when many courses start at the same time or end at the same time), so that the scenario of commuters going to/from NTU squeezing in buses of service 179/179A would be less common. Alternatively, speaking from the position as a non-member of NTU who is neither a student nor staff of NTU, I wish that NTU could stagger the start/end times of their courses, similar to what is done at ITE College Central, so that there would not be excessive loading of buses at any point of time.[ http://www.moe.gov.sg/media/news/2013/01/ites-latest-mega-campus-gets-o.php]
- 3. Bus route 502 should have reduced number of bus stops. Currently, the bus stops in Jurong are around 400 meters apart. It would be good the bus stops served by route 502 can be further apart (eg. 1 kilometer apart: similar to shortest distance between 2 MRT stations, especially on the newer MRT lines.), so that the ride on service 502 can be faster, especially since it is an express bus service.
- 4. Better bus services when the Bus contracts model replaces the current operating model.
- 5. Bus lanes at Pioneer Road North, Jalan Boon Lay/Jalan Bahar and Boon Lay Way where traffic jams are common, so that travelling times can be shorter.
- 6. At Pioneer MRT Station, the bus stop at blk 649 should be expanded to accommodate more bus routes, similar to the bus stops at Lakeside MRT Station. (To save space, perhaps the taxi stand should face the HDB carpark rather than Jurong West Street 63.) [if the 2-lane Jurong West Avenue 1 can have 7 bus routes, the 2-lane Jurong West Street 63 should have no problem accommodating 3 more bus routes]
- 7. At Pioneer MRT Station, the bus stop at blk 651 should be re-located and be sited next to the escalator. The taxi stand can be shifted to where the bus stop is now. Similarly, while re-locating the bus stop, LTA should also expand the bus stop to accommodate more bus routes, similar to the bus stops at Lakeside MRT Station. [if the 2-lane Jurong West Avenue 1 can have 7 bus routes, the 2-lane Jurong West Street 63 should have no problem accommodating 3 more bus routes]
- 8. The 15.4 kilometers feeder bus route 240 should be split up into a Boon Lay feeder and a Taman Jurong feeder. As I have mentioned in route suggestions (part 4), this would shorten travelling times to TJ and BL from Boon Lay Bus Interchange and provide more reliable feeder bus connections to the MRT network from these two subzones.
- 9. More buses should be deployed to City Direct bus service 651. More trips should be made on CD bus service 651. Likewise for the one at Jurong West/East Avenue 1 as it becomes more utilized, when it is introduced next year.
- 10. Bus lanes should be added at Jurong West Street 51 and Boon Lay Way, where traffic congestion is common, especially since there is now an additional bus service 49 plying Jurong West Street 51, which would worsen the traffic congestion.
- 11. Meanwhile, SMRT should deploy Double Decker buses on 187. Maybe this would help solve the traffic congestion at Jurong West Street 51, since DD occupies less space than Bendy buses.
- 12. The alignment of the Jurong Region MRT/LRT (if it is a MRT, I guess it is going be a low capacity line, having only 1-2 MRT train cars.) line can be announced and a temporary Bus Rapid Transit system[using the temporary makeshift orange bus stops and bus lanes, which can be shifted as and when roads are diverted to facilitate construction of JRL] can be set up(except for the sections going into Tengah and CCK), so that the people in Western Singapore can start to benefit from the JRL, 10+ years ahead of 2025.
- 13. Public buses should have their own traffic lights, similar to those on BRT, so that the bus rides can be faster.
- 14. SBS Transit should set up its own Facebook and Twitter pages, similar to what SMRT has.
- 15. Shorter waiting lines at Boon Lay Bus Interchange. The (extremely) long waiting line at berths 243G, 243W, etcetera. are indications that the bus route should either bus split up or be complemented by a new BSEP feeder/bus route.

WLDEP take over Yishun service but partial control with some like 851,853,854,855,857
AMDEP take over 77,106,970,190,963,966,858,960,75 for partial control
The rest let WYDEP takeOC and Citaro come back WLDEP to balance out the fleet
MAN buses also evenly distributed to other depots -
1. 161 to turn WAB.
2. 163 to get at least 1 Citaro perm, as well as to get a BSEP fleet add.
3. 854 to get perm MAN A22s from WLDEP.
4. HGDEP to take in more new Citaros to replace the outgoing MK4s.
5. HGDEP to take in more Wrights and transfer more VO3x to SLBP.

i wish that i do not see more STUPID posts such as SBST is unable to introduce more WAB services due to the fact that SBST is listing every single WAB service it have in the poster... or .asking SBST/SMRT to reduce the number of bus stops that bus services are calling to reduce the travelling time.....
