Oh
Thread named Singapore Buses. If you want to post foreign stuff that does not concern Singapore by that bit go somewhere else.
Mods lock please
Why discuss? Not much users here really discuss on HK buses anyways.
I bet half here don't even know what cross harbour is.

I agree. But I will suggest that this thread to be renamed to "Overseas Buses Discussions". Users who went to other countries can share their bus ride experiences, while information about overseas operators, and even their bus fleet, fares and fare collection etc. can be discussed on this thread.

Agree.
Now that's better :P more things to discuss too
For 692 is really sad case. All the empty buses run around, even during weekends (though sometimes the buses can get especially full). As a way to compete with the MTR this has to be the result 11 years later. It could have been avoided had it plied more expressway in HK island though.

692 is not that empty, the ridership is not that low...
there is a reason for the route to ply HK island before entering EHT

I know, but most of the time it is really sad loading. Sometimes, but sometimes, there will be full buses.
The reason is to connect the non-MTR areas in TKO to the whole of city areas of HK Island correct? I can then see why 692P was partially spared from scrapping (it was given a 3-month observation period after consideration). Route is alr duplicating the MTR by a big chunk and yet it is more expensive and it has horrific freq too. I do take it though haha

most hk bus routes follow mtr line to provide alternative unlike SG

And what happens? They get withdrawn. This shows that it is not very effective most of the time. It's better if 692 can ply the Eastern Corridor, and skip North Point - Tin Hau, then it will get much more load despite heavy duplication.

if 692 ply eastern corridor, commuters need to tfr more n no interchange rebate...
