It is amazing how quickly 972 has become so popular. Clearly shows how much need this area was for another bus.
now sv 300 tio complain in the chinese evening papers. SMRT operator again!
Probably caused by Shawn Ong who is very active at FB attacking SMRT
DK really need to buck up

As heard, 300 wasn't that bad from some of the bus fans. Not quite sure if it's true. And it's by Shawn Ong, the guy whom complained to SMRT/LTA about 190.
300 can already be packed to the door when it arrives at CCK Ave 4. If buses are on time, no problem, if there is even 2 min delay, you can see how crowded the bus stops on Ave 4 get because ppl have to leave 1-2 buses to board. The next 2-3 buses will be fine. 302/307 are much better in terms of managing load than 300, hence u see complains on 300 more.
Feeders not so bad la,u miss 1 or 2 another will come shortly, imagine if you wanna take the last bus 171 from Mandai to Yishun..dang
Orchard jam like siao on friday evening... ppls who take buses pls consider twice

Not really..as a cck resident, i feel that 302 and 307 has a fair share of its crowd too. During weekday PM peak, crowd for 302 is at yew tee MRT stop..u will see the bus stop super full, and 85% of the pax want to board 302. Slight delay on 302 will see more pax at the stop and they wun be able to board the bus, even though its bendy, since trains will come every other min and in both directions, similar to the corwd for 300, where slight delay will cause significantly more passengers.
307 will peak at Lot one bus stop. To cck residents (YewTee side), 307 will be a notorious service for bus bunching, regardless of timings, rain or shine, even though headways for non peak is 8-10mins or even longer. This is especially evident during AM peak, PM peak, and weekends. Majority couldnt board the bus from lot one stop during PM peak (esp 7 plus), and case worsen if the bus that arrive is from TeckWhye and not fresh from cck int, causing a significant number of passengers left at the bus stop. And load cannot be cleared efficiently due to deployment of rigid buses. Missing 2 bus that bunch means next bus will come at least 15 mins later, even during peak.
307 also pass by alot of schools and residents may find themselves missing at least 3 buses during school start time and school dismissal time.
Many Yew Tee residents rely on 302 and 307 to get to their home, just like CCK (SunshinePlace area) relying on 300 to get home. But at least if they live at 200 and 400 series, they have 172 and 975 as alternatives but definitely not YewTee area..
Loading on 972 (observations)
Boarded 3087R (AP97) at 12.30pm from the bus stop before BKE and alighted at Dhoby Ghaut MRT yesterday (061213).
3/4 seated with no standees. As usual, due to long time given to them in their timetable, bus was slowly cruising on BKE and PIE. A CAC on 960 and TIB1108A on 190 overtook it. Majority pax alighted at Tangs and there was only 4 pax left on the bus.
3092 on 972 sunday, fleet add?

Possible bro. The relief for 302/307 is that the loading gets distributed due to two MRT stops. For 300 it gets worse coz all the crowd ends up at CCK.
I have a feeling that the next BSEP service will be launched in CCK / Yew Tee area. There are parts of both Yew Tee and CCK that need better connectivity.
There's a need for a new svc from Bukit Batok via CCK MRT follow 300/302 routes and looping at Yew Tee area possible?

Yes why not. It should go via Bukit Gambok to CCK via CCK Ave 5 and 4 and then follow to Yew Tee.
Ok maybe our brother SamTlk can feedback on this

definitely! relying on 302 and 307 is not enough!
Full to door !
:D
If smrt deploy higher capacity on 972, think more ppl will choose this route. Evening mostly ppl from dobby ghaut MRT have chop all the seats!
i ever see pax from 190 alight at blk 223 bus-stop to board 972 =)

Many BSEP buses snail... FYI
Just look at the BCs on 119 after BSEP...
And not to mention many other fleet additions...
Thats why they either come late, or bunch up after being late (late non-BSEP bus caught on)
Heh. Improving freq somemore. Total wastage of taxpayer money.
