Might not be good though..
Cannot start at Yew Tee since no terminal/interchange. I would rather say extend 700 to CCK via Yew Tee
BPJ Road --> Woodlands Road (Ten Mile Junction) --> Sungei Kadut (enter where 925 enters) --> CCK Way (2 new stops) --> CCK North 6 (2 new stops) --> CCK DR (1 new stop) --> CCK Int.

Calls at different points in city.

What's the advantage? Rather just amend 700 because that is the redundant route right now. 960 has a huge patronage and changing that route is going to be almost impossible.
Maybe amending just 700 is better. But the intention of amending 960 is to provide a link to Orchard from Woodlands Rd, which is also viable.

Still remember the days when 700 served Woodlands area...but I had forgotten how the route looks like.
YMCA Orchard bus stop see 972 turned out from Bencoolen. seated with all passengers at 640pm, left with one or two seats. Kiasu ppls at plaza sing scared no seats. KNN the problem with loop services.

You mean the Industrial areas in Woodlands road? Do they need a connection w/ Orchard Road??? If you mean Senja area, then they have now 972 from BPJ Ring. Alternately, 700 can be extended as described above, but that would be more for Yew Tee people getting a direct link than Woodlands Road.

I mean the Kranji area, Turf Club area. It may be minor though.

Yeah not a worthy enough reason.

If it involved transfers then it shouldn't be much of a problem. Kranji MRT Station is the nearest MRT station to Woodlands Checkpoint and I had observed that majority of the people come from beyond the Causeway...by taking 160/170 to Kranji and then transferring to respective bus services.

This is a nice route. Another possible way is:
woodlands rd
kje
cck drive (1new pair outside kranji pri)
cck north 7 (1 new pair at near blk 678)
cck way (2 new pair, one between north 7 and north 6, one between north 6 and north 5)
cck int
let 700/700A do this route instead..

SMRT really... not update in the bus connect with the arrival times for 972. Maybe new, but I check sv 904 also not updated in the app. it really speak a lot about the company.

Good idea of having 700/700A amend its route to serve the Yew Tee area.
Yes, that's almost the same idea as mine as what i posted and suggested since weeks ago...
If Svc.700/700A doesn't help, then implement 960A or 967 with some bendies fleet... Svc.700 can serve Yew Tee side, while 960A or 967 can serve Wlands side...
As my suggestion:

It's not just 960 that has the link between Woodlands Road and Little India...

Aniway 972 bus arrival timings not available at bus stops with LTA electronic bus arrival timing ...
As a few users have suggested 700/A extended to Yew Tee, then it would be best 971 be converted to DAY service, 971E as "ffw" or
972 be extended to Shenton Way with 972A doing the Suntec City service in the evenings, Sat afternoon, Sun/PH, 971E remain as it is...
Best for YT residents to get a more direct link to city rather than just MRT as sole connection or heading to the increasingly populated CCK/Teck Whye for transfers...
Eg, HK Tseung Kwan O, Hang Hau area have connections to HK island and major places in HK and not only MTR as sole option...

If 972 is extended to Shenton Way, the route is 95% the same as 971E...might as well re-number 971E as 972E instead...

Also ok, as long YT residents can a PROPER link to city and NOT through CCK/Teck Whye
Hais dun understand give 972 from BPJ to Orchard some ppl wanna extend till Shenton Way,Wait extend complain route too long, waiting times also effected..I truly amazed by some ppl here...Dunno appreciate too good life
Why would you want to extend 972 to Shenton Way. Already have 971E, 700, 75 and 970 all going to Shenton Way from BPJ. Also have 171, 960 to Marina Center. 972 is introduced with a purpose for people along Orchard road. It is a good route, let it be!

So why is 700 redundant svc then? As some user here said...
And who would wanna take 75/171/960/970 all the way to CBD.
972 should be extended to YT...
Originally posted by Acx1688:Also ok, as long YT residents can a PROPER link to city and NOT through CCK/Teck Whye
Premium svc can, but if it's all day svc then this may not be possible.
Remember HK different from Singapore, here you have a dual-poly system with SMRT dominating all PT in the NW while in HK you have MTR as rail and KMB, NWFB for buses, more PTO running the show...
So would SMRT wanna introduce a new svc that would conflict with its NSL and yet waste operation costs? Unless you convince LTA to let SBST do the job which is real unlikely unless it's Premium svc. HK have bus operators that compete with rival MTR and also each other, thus the better and more direct svcs coming up day by day...
So not to say that YT don't deserve new CBD svc, just extend 972 or make 971E full day and let it start at YT can alr, pass through a bit of BPJ won't die one... If they don't want they can always take the MRT

No one disputed the fact that 972 was a good route to cater to the masses in some parts of BPJ
post was written w YT in mind to create new link for residents of YT bypassing CCK/TW
If 972 is indeed extended to YT, more buses will be arranged and timings adjusted to demand
972 extension to Shenton Way is for an alternative of paying TRUNK fare and not express fare
