Yew Tee is part of CCK...
Originally posted by Bus Stopping:Not sure what time you saw it, but was at ion at 7.30pm yesterday the 972 had less than 10 pax. and the 190 habit behind was full to the door already. Takes some time to get used to the new route I suppose?
Saw at 7.35pm at Somerset. This one must be the bus right after the one you saw. I would say it must have 20-25 pax seating by then (coz it seemed like good # of seats already taken).

I would say just extend 107 to Punggol merging it with 82. It does the job. If you route the service via HG Ave 3/2 and Still road, it is again a very long time-consuming route.
Also, people in Punggol are the first to board NEL. They always get a seat to sit. They don't have the same issues as people in Hougang and Serangoon, where the trains are already over-packed. Just my 2 cents.

It is really sad how Yew Tee is neglected. Not one trunk service. If they introduce the Punggol - BPJ service, I hope they route it via BKE, Mandai Road, Sungei Kadut and Yew Tee.
CCK overall is at such a disadvantage. All bus services. I mean each and every trunk service there is always packed to the door whether it is 67, 172, 188, 190, 985. 985 definitely needs peak hour bendies. 172 needs more too. 67 / 188 / 190 also running at over-optimum levels.

CCK/BPJ all start from SBS and the rail network is poor..thats why residents rely more on buses to get to MRT/work

But CCK bus network also poor la.

Regarding accessibility it's not as bad, but load wise it is.
Actually CCK had quite a few services previously,75,172...
75 terminated BPJ
172 shortened...

yup but knowing SBST maximising ridership before route implementation is their chief concern... lk at 161,168 u get my point...
Anw hows 972 loading these few days? no chance to go spot..
Yes..cck yewtee bus service is very bad..esp yewtee only served by 1 intra-town and 1 feeder..maybe can have one service that make use of the Stagmont Link via CCK stadium? But like that cannot use bendy liao...coz Stagmont Link too narrow..

Seems okay for now. 30-35 pax at Orchard. But will improve. But you don't really see a relief for 190 yet. Packed to door all the time. Loading on 700 will fall drastically in coming months.
Maybe its the timings that most ppl prefer 190/700
Would it make sense to have 972 extended to Marina Centre Ter (as an alternative for 700/700A)?

No. Then just withdraw 700. But u need 700 for Petir road.

I like the loop at SMU. You can spot people boarding 972 at DG MRT stop outside Plaza Singapura.
Even if someone is going to be fed up at what I am going to say, I feel that service 960 should be amended to serve Orchard while 700/700A go to Bugis (swapping routes).
Alternatively, 972 can be extended to Yew Tee to better serve the residents there, rather than 972 start BPJ.

Good idea.

Start at Yew Tee, followed by BPJ, then expressway to City area..
Might not be good though..
But wait, the route of 972 is very similar to the route of 971E, only that 971E did not call at the bus stops along the Stevens Road sector and plied Shenton Way area.

What's the advantage? Rather just amend 700 because that is the redundant route right now. 960 has a huge patronage and changing that route is going to be almost impossible.
