I refer to HK's multi storey depots, and several BCs tell me some buses have to go up to four storeys high and down again, wasting fuel. What's more, if a bus break down on the slope it's gg for the buses.
Well, I find most of your posts illogical, so let's do each other a favor. I don't comment on yours ( will ignore them) and u do the same. Fuel compared to land. Reality check!!

And makes sense... Apart from bus fans, who wants to see a depot right in the heart of the city!
Keppel area for bus depot too mainstream la,at least before that should be ok if Arbp decide to relocate.Old railways all got planning in future,Now cannot fully demolish cause of the fond memories...Depot in cbd more chaos than benefit..Cbd still jam pack with vehicles till 3-4 am leh dun forget. In fact bus depot should built around Industrial, forest or deserted areas
Canidates for WEDEP (full control): 172, 173, 176, 177, 180, 184, 188, 530, 868, 927, 971E, 972, 975
Canidates for WEDEP (partial control with AMDEP): 61, 75, 77, 106, 190, 852, 970, 985
Canidates for WEDEP (partial control with WLDEP/WLBP): 178, 187
Canidate for WEDEP (partial control with KJDEP): 925 (925C can go full KJDEP)
Actually Amdep need a sub bus park and Kjdep can close cause Wenya alone can handle 500 buses.Just in case Sembawang to expand and future Simpang housing estates.

Er are you sure to remove KJDEP? What about the drivers from CCK/BB/BP to them it's just a stones throw away?
If you are space tight you plan your time well simple as that. Makes no sense for them to go WY and close KJ.
We shall see first bro since Kjdep leasing is expired mid next year.

Exactly! KJDEP is really essential and needs to stay. It could even give some of its buses to WEDEP and take other buses from the overcrowded WLDEP/WLBP. These ex-WLDEP buses could even drive from KJDEP to Woodlands Int to do trunk services like 925, just like how buses used KJDEP (926 will not be affected, unless it goes under WLDEP), before WLDEP took over these duties...
Bt Batok/CCK no problem under Wenya,At least no so far from Wenya unlike Amdep drivers have to off svc all the way to cbd although its nearer in km from Amdep.

Transdev has a bus park in the heart of Perth city, but does anyone feel it's an eyesore?

Well, since the Singapore government emphasizes a lot on underground and constantly trying to bring things underground, why not have an underground bus depot or underground bus park, if there has to be a bus depot/bus park infrastructure in the city centre?
Meanwhile, at Resorts World Sentosa, there is a massive underground space for buses.
If there has to be a bus depot/bus park infrastructure in the city centre, perhaps it can be constructed underground as well, below an office tower, residential building, convention centre, and etcetera.
It is probably just like constructing underground car parks in shopping malls – except it has to be constructed twice the height to accommodate Double Decker buses. (Besides, isn’t the new Serangoon Bus Interchange located underground?)
It is possible (and would probably not cost a lot more than a standard surface bus park).

it is so easy to find a big space for the underground bus park in the city area? and do u think it is that easy to dig in the city area without affecting the building?
oh ya they should have dig a underground bus parkunder "Garden by the bay" ... really wasted.....

Good idea.
We should send email to LTA.
Ask them to build "Bunker by the Bay"...

Well, you know, the Marina South area is still awaiting demolition of the ECP before it can be developed. There is still land available here. They can first construct the underground bus depot/park before selling the plots of land for developers to construct buildings above it.
Besides, who says the possible underground bus depot/park can only be below one building? It can be below several buildings and roads – similar to MRT stations – built underground under several plots of land.
Since the government has the idea of developing “underground cities”, it should really consider constructing underground bus depot/park, if there has to be one at the city centre.

1. Some of the vacant land is for joint-venture with Malaysia.
2. I dont think people in general enjoy driving up and down ramps for several stories as you seem to suggest. Maybe you do. I dislike it.
3. Geological constraints involved in digging Marina South area. The details are beyond me. But the cost and danger of digging underground there is not small.
Underground cbd depot buses still need to queue up from above for refuel, open coinbox and bus wash..Imagine the jams they cause..Building underground infrastructure is not easy task as we think.

maybe u can go be the designer or engineer.... if i am the developer, pls tell me how am i going to build a 60 storey building on a underground bus park which stretch across few buildings? so u r suggesting that the govt build the underground bus park first.. so the developers willcome in later. and just anyhow build the building and not taking into the foundation etc??
btw, looking at the cost of that Marina Coastel Expressway, so it is anybody guess how much the underground bus park will cost in Marina area...
also, actually the Floating Platform also wasted..... should use to park buses.. lol..
Padang also wasted.. should convert it to bus park as well.... lol
On second thought, I remember there are plans for a new park located West of Downtown MRT Station called the “Central Linear Park”, of which part of the site of the proposed new park is currently occupied by the ECP.
Since the land is only allocated for park (recreation use), why not construct a bus depot infrastructure at the land – either underground (below the park) or on surface level (the park above)(who says the park cannot be elevated?); why not first construct a bus depot infrastructure at the land, before constructing the Central Linear Park?
Since the land for CLP has already been wasted, it would instead add more value to the land if a bus facility is constructed on it. Also, since the one constructing and owning the possible bus facility is LTA (and leased out to operators), which is the government, it does not need to "buy" the land because the land has already been "bought" by the government. In short, instead of having to incur high costs for the land, it would actually make the land more valuable if a bus facility is constructed on it.
Besides, I do not think it would cost a lot to construct an underground bus facility. The worst is that the costs is a bit higher than that of constructing the new Serangoon Bus Interchange.
Hence, Costs should not be an issue.

Did you or did you not read my post?
Do you want another Nicoll Highway collapse?
After that incident, they found that excavating in that area is (even more) not some suka-suka venture, and here you are, spouting words as though they are cheap!
Actually, what is wrong with the Marina Central Bus Terminal near the Singapore Flyer? I think it is good that a bus facility is constructed there – under the tall flyovers above it.
If there really has to be a bus depot/bus park infrastructure in the city centre, I think the government should expand the existing Marina Central Bus Terminal and construct the bus facility underneath the flyovers – which is wasted land, since no building can be constructed on it anyway. It can be similar to the current Eunos Bus Interchange and the future Jurong East Bus Interchange, only more complex as it is a Bus Depot/Bus Park.
Where is lemon?
Can I have permission to rest my case?

And a new underground bus station right in the middle of Perth City. After which massive commerical buildings are built over it. But I hate the massive diversions.

That's because it is next to the train depot.
In any case, any underground project sufficiently large must use the cut and cover method (i.e. Tear down any existing buildings on the land).
