In fact if they still wanna shared Bpj between Wenya and Woodlands i can think only 75,700 & 970 can be under Wldep/Amdep.Others like 176,180,184,920,922,972,975 definately goes to Wydep.Unless Ang Mo Kio have another bus park then i feel its quite redundant for Wldep to major control BPJ
Can close down AMK Depot and keep KJDEP.
This way all YIS / Sembawang / Woodlands services go to Woodlands
CCK / BPJ services by KJDEP
CBD / BBT / Boon Lay services by WENYA

AMDEP are the headquarters for both SBST and SMRT. You can't just close them down.

Too small for SMRT depot. Can still be HQ and a terminal there.

It's a HQ for both because of the strategic location [ Central of Singapore ].
You'll have to wait a very long time before they move out.
I will say 972- WEDEP
@BusAnal,if close Amkdep then service going to the eastern side will be very far to off service leh,Amkdep can part control eastern and cbd service without having to control Yishun
Dun forget Joo Koon,Ive got feeling either 180 & 187 will be extend there
AMDEP need to relieve quite a number of bus service to other depots. Buses like 858/966/190/970/700 will be taking a long time Off Service from their respective terminals at CBD/Eastern Singapore.
KJ to NBR- Nearly 1h
KJ to SW- 1h+
CGA to WL- 1h
MP to WL- 1h
If all 5 goes to AMDEP can cut down off service time to their respective depots
Thats why Ang Mo Kio is so important, probably LTA can built a bus park near Amdep to accomodate another 200 buses?

Agreed - makes logical sense to increase capacity at AMK - but there have been no reports around it.
Candidates for AMDEP: 75 (partial with WEDEP), 77 and 106 (both partial with WEDEP), 700 (partial with WLDEP), 960 (partial with WLBP), 966 (partial with WLBP).
Candidates for WEDEP: All Bukit Batok and Bukit Panjang feeders, 61, 75, 77, 106, 172 and 180 (both partial with KJDEP), 176, 178 and 187 (both partial with WLDEP/WLBP), 189, 530, 589, 852 (partial with WLBP/AMDEP), 868
OT: 925 can go full KJDEP.
@TIB585 probably you can try feedback to fb SMRT...Anything regarding cost cutting will be interesting for them....
Wydep can kapo BBT & CCK svc beside Boon Lay.

If AM wants to take in these services they have to re-schedule their slots.
961 formerly has this issue where both last buses are AM block, it is really 'hard' for the driver to be honest, After the re-scheduling should both buses belong to WLDEP/WLBP it won't be that hard, atleast it is just a stone's throw away.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:Agreed - makes logical sense to increase capacity at AMK - but there have been no reports around it.
To be honest, AM relies more on scheduling than space.
If they feel after sometime the fleet demand for that particular svc doesn't require so much buses, they will pull some of them back so as not to clash with other buses later on.
If every svc starts calling their buses (with/without ONP) off after 2330 hrs I think a big disaster will happen, especially in a space-tight depot like AM and KJ.
My solution is Amdep let go Yishun to Wldep. Those GL1 svc like 853,961,980 & 985 can take 6 duties each tally with the duties.CBD Service like 106,970,75,960,171,190 prefer last 4 buses all from Amdep except weekends.61 should stay 50/50.966 Amdep can control 4 duties with displaying 966A last 3 buses from Amdep same goes to 858.969 should let Wldep control majority while 67 should be major Amdep
Sorry if this is off topic

It's okay! Well, nice observation there!

HQ can always shift to WLBP.
Originally posted by carbikebus:Wenya is exclusively for BBT/CCK/BNL and upcoming tengah town and if they keen to keep KJDEP then it will control BPJ and some of CCK svc.Woodlands depot & bus park will control Yishun,Sembawang and of course Woodlands.Amdep meanwhile will control CBD/BTM/HBF and eastern svc.167 will definately be minor control with only Amdep control Split or TQ duties,176 might be KJDEP and minor Split duties AMDEP and 851major WLDEP while split duties to AMDEP..No point Amdep control Yishun cause of the depot capacity.
Tengah new town already being built? What is happening with Simpang? SAF still using that area for training?
Originally posted by 23ispolo:(OFF-TOPIC) When Simpang town is developed, they will be at least one MRT station and Simpang LRT, due to its size. Is the LRT connecting to Yishun? Anyway, a bus interchange is in the plan, with what I suspect will have services connecting to Sembawang, Yishun, Woodlands, Bukit Batok/Panjang, Choa Chu Kang and the city. Sorry for going off-topic.
There is provision for one station between YIS and SBW. Anyway, Simpang is more like an extension of SBW. The flats in SBW are numbered from Block 300 onwards. N1 & 2 are still non-existent yet.
Let's hope Tengah gets a new bus terminal/interchange with awesome services

If SMB can build a new depot in SKG that would be a gift from the gods indeed.

I don't think LTA and SBST will be too enthusiastic indeed.
