Jurong East and Bukit Batok services. where Bulim is the bus Depot.

it is not under SBST or SMRT control over svcs

i mean tender... SBST tender those services
Originally posted by carbikebus:Maybe topic should change to Bulim Depot instead?
Why Bulim? SMRT's own tender documents and even official LTA press release uses Wenya Bus Depot as the name.

erm, they can't
dam those exclusive areas ...
Originally posted by carbikebus:SMRT also start to tender a few of SBST Svc but judging by their track records LTA would rather SBST keep or other new player try.
don't think they have any track records, unless of screw ups ...

Are you sure?
Are you going to show us the proof?
Or are you going to wait for the course of time to show otherwise?

Forget about SMRT's tender documents. It would be LTA's tender document which is obviously still in the making, that would be relevant rather. There are foreign players out there who are hungry for the market. If LTA is calling it Bulim Depot, it will be Bulim Depot to avoid confusion during the tendering phase which will be very soon indeed.

Looking at the trend, I would assume the incumbents won't be getting these services back.
And even if they do, the colour of the bus won't be something you would recognise from the days of past.
While its unclear at this point the extent to which the buses will be changing livery, I would hazard a guess it would be maximal here, given the climate of anticipating change here.
I for one, am quite interested to see a 3rd operator here to spice things up a bit: for too long now we had been at the mercy of the 2 incumbents.

First bus service package under Government contracting model
- The first package of public bus services will comprise 24 existing bus services originating from the Jurong East, Bukit Batok and Clementi Bus Interchanges, to be operated out of the new Bulim bus depot located off Jurong West Avenue 2. The bus services will serve largely the Jurong East and Bukit Batok areas. This package will start with about 380 buses in 2016, before growing to about 500 buses in 2021, in tandem with ridership growth and the development of Tengah New Town and Bukit Batok West. The package will be tendered out in the second half of 2014, for implementation from the second half of 2016.
- This first package comprises 16 bus services from SBS Transit and 8 bus services from SMRT.

Was not aware of this press release/tender, which is why I was asking. Not everyone are so up to date ya? Relax!
Yes, then in that case the depot could likely be known as Bulim Depot to LTA although SMRT have previously referred to it as Wenya in their tenders.
Ref SMRT Tender QX13-060:
DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLATION, TESTING AND COMMISSIONING OF SPECIALIST SYSTEM FOR WENYA BUS DEPOT
Veryyyyyy chillax oneeeeee.
Look at the weather!
So nice to sleep man.
to avoid having any unnecessary misunderstanding or whatever, I think it would be good to view it this way:
now until 2016 - SMRT (under current model)
2016 onwards - new operator (under contracts model)
let's just assume that right now it will be called 'Wenya Depot' and afterwards it will be called 'Bulim Depot'.
Made one discovery: the new depot at Wenya/Bulim is actually.... an interim bus depot.
Well, there is now a signboard that says "Except SMRT Buses" at Bulim Avenue.
due to site restrictions (where public cannot go in), this is the closest I can go, to explore.
nonetheless, I was still able to see the new depot, from blk 276D.
anyway, regarding the discovery that the new depot is proposed as an interim bus depot, I think this explains why even in the 2013 Master Plan, the site opposite Jurong JC is still allocated for 'transport facilities'.
I guess in future, probably when the future Jurong Region Line is ready, there will be a bus-and-train depot opposite Jurong JC, at the junction of Jurong West Avenue 2 and Bulim Avenue.
by then, operations in this new depot at Wenya/Bulim will most likely relocate there and this new depot will be demolished.
Thanks for posting pics.
Officially called Bulim Depot in circular.
2 new workers' transport WT22 & WT23 plus a ferry service that runs full day between Bulim Depot & Bt Batok Int.
