In the past, there were similar threads to keep track of the buses when they were being prepared for LPKP registration for cross border operations. So here is a new thread that will keep track of the DM3500s and K230UBs which are being prepared for SPAD registration for cross border operations.
Note: LPKP has been dissolved and is now absorbed into SPAD, hence the updated hotline sticker. All of the SPAD registered buses have received 3rd brake lights and are pasted with the information (black), SPAD hotline and malaysian speed limit stickers.
SPAD registered K230UBs: 80 buses

Seems like the newer DM500s are also going to get JB stix. Think that these buses transferred are temp perm only. Possibly 160/170 going to get a mix mix of kubs and DM500s..may be wab soon I guess?
New DM35. to replace the older ones? Like abit no logic :x
New in this case, refers to the non-JB[never go JB > New to JB]...
Older in this case, refers to the current JB DM3500..

from 2689B - 2697C and till 2715J dont they expire next year? believe that even before they get deregged, they will be pulled out to spare. Can see why they mostly deploy 2719Z and so on majority on 160/170
Is SBST planning to introduce a 3rd bus service into JB soon?
One question.
I know that the 3rd brake light is to prepare the buses to do cross border service. But why is there a need for 3rd brake light in order to do cross border services?

Malaysian regulations for better visibility in the dark. It applies to all vehicles, not just buses.

Doubt it. The newer batch of DM3500s with the brake light are likely going in to replace those from the 269x & early 27xx series. Some of those from the 269x & early 27xx series were reg-ed in 1997 & 1998, while the newer batches (2793H and beyond) were reg-ed in 2000. That's at least 2 years' diff of lifespan expiry. So they are likely pre-empting the need to de-reg those earlier DM3500s, & using the later batch of DM3500s to replace them.
& the KUBs are likely to supplement the fleet as well.
Unlikely it would be full KUB fleet anytime soon, but i'm guessing likely 60:40 or 70:30 ratio between DM3500s & KUBs once they finish retrofitting the buses they need with the brake lights & info boxes..

Alright thanks for the info.
Just wondering why didn't SBST installed third brake lights on all of their buses like SMRT.

That's going to be a disaster. I'm telling you this.
Why, that's better view too.

Honestly speaking, base on Malaysia Regulation, it is a need to have 3rd brake light due to the darkness over the Causeway Bridge as well as some area..
In Singapore, might be necessary to have 3rd brake light. But not sure when will they have it.
SBST all bus don't hv 3rd one but, SMRT all got. So would hope SBST will install them

we shall see first...
Wrights on 160/170 is possible a not?

DD on cross-border maybe can la, but I do not know if there are laws over using such buses. Hmm?
Maybe for safety reasons SBST don't want

Most likely 48 ( or 50, if they bring 2790/2819) over dm3500 n around 30 kub. Maybe kub will be put on 170X.
You must remember Johor roads mostly got tree branches dangling and the JB Ciq itself only a dd coach can enter cause its much lower than citybus DDs
