Hello there,
I am not from Singapore but I enjoy reading this forum especially when reading about the Scania K230UB bus as they are becoming more popular in the UK.
I thought you might like to see this video of how the Scania buses we have over here are like, the driver puts his foot down a lot!
Bus has Enviro 300 bodywork and is limited to 90kph, some of them go to 100kph.

Oh ho ho ho...Didn't I say it many times that many Citaros were involved in accidents, and people also fell down in Citaros when they are moving? So I should say Singapore is unlucky to have 750 Citaros, shouldn't I? (LOL)

Well...this is the first time I have seen a Scania K230UB with that bodywork, but overall I still find it excellent. Not like some people who don't like it for fake reasons.

over here, No matter how much you floor the throttle, The limit is set to 60Kph no more than that.
In the UK it is much different because the roads are big, so 90 should be no big problem.

Hmm, the OC500LEs are also comfortable... The MANs feel too standard to me. So, I go for OC500LE. Quiet, yet cosy. But SMB206J (MAN Batch 1) is also quite good.

The bodywork is very cheaply made, rattles a lot and always get condensation on the windows but then Scania heating is poor
The 280 more better

If they are limited to only 60kph do they have engine braking enabled? They struggle here on hills like in that video it dropped gears from 6 - 5 for a long time at nearly full speed.

Last i remember the UK still use mph and not kph.

The Gemilang bodywork we have here is also cheaply made. But I do believe most of the rattling problem is due to the vibrations of the Scania engine itself.
KUBs are creepy and lousy~ So many KUBs involved in accidents~ Citaros are safer and more reliable~

Yes but I know you use kph so I put it in kph.
The speedometer still displays kph in bigger numbers.
90 kph - 56mph
100kph - 62mph
So do u enjoy riding on it Midlander?

Actually I'd rather not. You haven't seen how cheap the door panels/mountings feels like on 8689L. It will seriously make the KUBs worse than they are.
SBS Transit should install those doors on the Wrights or on future buses instead.
from the video, it is really what I would want to see in buses, thrashing through the accelerator to that kind of speed. but here our buses get locked up at 60 right after hitting the sixth gear. or maybe before it hits the sixth gear at some 1500rpm. not the best thing but well, small country so we don't need F1-standards of speed.
by the way, enviro300 body meaning the newer enviro200-looking mould or the older which is enviro500-looking? well, either would look very fresh in Singapore since the brand is much of extinct.
don't talk about heating, some K230UBs here may even need an extra air-conditioning pod if that's what it takes to cool the bus more efficiently and quicky since buses get warmed up real quick once the bus is parked under the sun.
