Uh dude, that Volvo badge is the latest version of the Volvo logo. And it's quite crazy if you want the diagonal blade of the logo to stretch across the entire front eh?
And if you actually go and think about it, if Gemilang only chose to put the VOLVO words on the front, isn't it going to look actually worse than with the Volvo logo?
At least they never painted the front portion above the bumper in grey colour like they did with 7888K. It's gonna look worse if they did so.

Wright, A bodywork assemblier, not like Volvo, Merz, MAN chassis/engine maker. Same as What's Gemilang is doing but different company.
Gemilang, also a bodywork assemblier like Wrightbus, but different company.
Similarity: both does not produce chassis/engine, only doing bodywork. So it shld not be called Gemilang wright, ask other uses. I got to sleep. Hope u get to know more. ;)
You were late.
Anyways that chap is really damn hard to teach. Most of us have alr told him countless times about this problem. I also taught him. And yet he still says the same thing.
Lets see if he will say Volvo Wright with Gemilang B9TL bodywork next.

Actually I wonder why they even bother to put the holes there if they are not going to put any lights in them..Looks just plain weird and incomplete.
The little holes at the front are installed with LED daytime running lights, so that the main lights would not need to be used to save some energy.
Nickname for Volvo B9TL with Gemilang bodywork for SBS Transit.
Vol-gem. =.=

Anyone knows how many units are going to be Gemilang-ed?

Think would be from rego 34xx-35xx since there is the gap for no reason....
Still, this might not be true.
Btw, anyone knows the rego for the Volvo B9TL Gemilang-bodied demonstrator?

Might be SBS3239K or SBS3888L or whatsoever... If they go by chassis number closer to the batch, it would be SBS3239K...
Maybe 3239 is specially reserved for this bus, since they just pulled out 1 chassis to be bodied by Gemilang.
I think 34xx and 35xx are reserved for future BSEP buses, since the Citaro already reached 64xx series already.
Or perhaps it follows SBS Transit's tradition of having an auspicious license plate which is 3888.
Wonder why didn't SBST used SBS1 again.
3239 might be for this chassis, 34xx-35xx could be for follow up orders for this Gemilang.
I dont think 34xx is for tis bus, cause i doubt 100 bsep wrights are enough... 35xx sounds more possible

AFAIK, 200.
Could be 7800 or 35/3600..

36xx confirm not. Let's see what will sbst do abt it.

Woops, forgotten the BSEP batches..

You sounded as if SBS Transit had made orders for Gemilang B9TLs...but may be I am wrong or the information I have is outdated; SBS Transit may have already made orders.

SBST has already commited to buying 150(2009)+300(2010)+550(2012) B9TLs with Wright bodywork as confirmed in both Volvo and Wright press releases.
This unit is only a prototype demonstrator, and any orders will be a follow up order to the 1000 Wright B9TLs.
I'm not sure where you got the 200 units from, unless that is privileged info (which i don't think u can declare unless given the go-ahead by sbst/volvo).

200 CDGE + about 550 Wright [7500D to 3671U, exclude BSEP]
Well, apparently it's from some ppl + the numbers mentioned in the previous few pages + my own guess[expl shown below]
Since there's 542 non-WAB DD, with about currently 750 DDs + 66 BSEP[DDs], I think probably they would target at least to double the fleet of 542 buses to about >= 1200-1500?
And Given that the trial period[for any brand new vehicle model], their pattern is always introduce 150/200 for the WAB fleet,
Thus with the Wrights + CDGE + KUD + GML[this new B9TL], that would roughly make up about 1001 + 200+

If you are making a guess, i honestly believe its only fair to state that it is a guess.
Do not mislead everyone by saying confidently that "As far as i know 200" was ordered.
Right now of what I understand it is just 1 chasis. Are we getting more is my question?

Probably yes. Maybe 200 like 66x user said
the gm design interior seems nicer than wright
dont think rego will be 36xx-39xx coz sg wiki say the wrights will be registered to 39xx. Most slightly rego that's not registered.
Why not SBST register it as SBS1?

There have been plenty of cases of people getting killed by vehicles because they were behind, and in the blind spot.
NSF killed fellow NSF when he reversed into him against the pillar....
All it takes is just for a gear to engage, or the brakes to fail, or just plain careless driving.
And for SMB66X, please eat your words.
Driverless bus rolls out of interchange and onto road
There was also another case where the brakes failed for a truck at a private estate. The fella had to buang the truck at a drain to prevent any danger to people...

Why not? It's up to you to trust also...there have been people mentioning the value around, isn't that misleading too ??
At least the "AFAIK" indicates that there's a possibility of error too...plus the 200 doesn't only comes from the guess...
