SBST announced for ITE East student faster boarding to allow boarding from 2 doors~ again proven bendy bus would work better and faster if 3 door bendy boarding so SBST should buy some bendy bus like MANdy~
bendy board from 3 doors? the interchange got so much space to park bendies?
Sv72B already implement this two doors boarding some time back...

ITE East reach very fast so people will crowd near doors and refuse to go up so DDs become useless~ bendy boarding faster~
How do they ensure that students are paying their fare with 2-door boarding?

Should still be possible, only that the driver have to check carefully. Don't forget in Europe they have bendies exceeding 20m such as the MB Capacity with 4 doors and boarding is allowed at any door.
Board from Exit doors? Wouldn't that will be quite troublesome as if we board from exit doors, we have to walk to the entrance and tap the card?

why need to stay in the bus?
only boarding is important. ensure they tap. once bus is full, TI will SHOUT for BC to close exit door or slam the body of the bus. then TI will move forward to entry door and squeeze more people. then SHOUT for BC to close entry door. then TI waits for next 31A. like that lor.
they don't want to tap out, even better.

There is a slight difference although boarding is allowed at any door.
In Europe they just crowd around the bus stop and board the bus like we board the MRT. But in the interchange in SG we have 1 queue and the queue needs to split to different doors, not forgetting the walk to each of the doors. And given that people are kiasu and wants a seat, they would run towards the doors.
So, probably not something you want to see in peak hours in an already crowded interchange?

How? 179A stop at Pioneer MRT as well. Unless boarding from both doors is allowed only at Boon Lay.

Hmmm. I thought it did coz I see it ply around Pioneer MRT road but you are right, now that I recollect it is fast forward service from Boon Lay to campus.

In case u do not know, it is actually possible for BC to programme all readers to be on Entry/Exit. So why do people need to go to the front door to tap or rather, why they would implement such way of boarding if at the end of the day, they can only tap at the front? Hope u got what I meant.
LTA and SBST should remove 31a and introduce 31M the service which looping between Tampines interchange and Bedok mrt station whole day during school days.

Singapore should have built BRT not MRT~ then Singapore full of bendy buses and bus community will grow much bigger than train community~

I like that proposal. In fact, I would modify 31A to ply Bedok South Ave 3, UEC, Bedok South Road, Bedok South Ave 3 to provide connectivity to Bedok South Rd residents (east part) to Tanah Merah MRT. Currently on 229 to Bedok that too after looping at Chai Chee going to Interchange.
Need another service besides 48 to cater to the load on Bedok South Ave 3 as well, and need DDs for this route for morning / evening peak. So 31M will serve this objective perfectly.
