Ur thread title already wrong. It should be The Bus Operator not Bus The Operator
I think title should be "Buses that the PTOs should buy for a more comfortable ride".
My basic list (possible):
Volvo B9L/B9LA - SBS Transit (B9L)/SMRT Buses (B9LA) - Like the B9TL, it is the SD version of the chassis, so comfort would be of the same level as the B9TLs.
Mercedes-Benz Citaro G - SMRT Buses - Like the Citaro.
Dennis Enviro 500 - SBS Transit/SMRT Buses - Dennis have improved quite a lot since merging with Alexander.
Mercedes-Benz Conecto/G - SBS Transit (Conecto)/SMRT Buses (Both) - An extra door at the end of the bus to improve accessibilty, encourage commuters to move to the rear end of the bus, and would stop commuters using "difficulty to alight the bus" as an excuse.
Not so possible (due to length issues):
MAN Lion's City C - SMRT Buses - Would be great for the loading conditions in Singapore.
MAN Lion's City DD - SMRT Buses - Best for the loading conditions in Singapore.
They should buy TATA with Hispano and berkhof body with 8 speed auto gearbox,DongFeng with Wright body,Ashok Leyland bendy with Marco Polo body,Zhongtong Double decker with Gemilang temberang body and for staff vans buy Wu Ling and Hafei Minz enough..For SBST motorbike buy Bajaj chetak scooters and China scramblers

Please, not the Zhongtongs. Especially the China DDs.
Suggest:
E200 Euro IV for SMRT short svcs such as 882 or 859, and will do well for split on svcs like 859.
E300 for both operators. Take Euro V 12m.
Both operators should grab the chance to buy Euro VI Volvo B8RLE with 7700cc option of 280hp/1050nm(For SBST) or 320hp/1200nm(For SMRT).350hp/1400nm out of question already. The buses are good for crush loadings and to complement the K230UBs and OC500LEs...

What if SMRT decides to buy this instead to save costs. MAN A24 chassis too.
Who would think Smrt which got long connection with Daimler suddenly buy MANs?
Buy a few 100 units won't do any harm and in fact LE buses can take more paxs
SMRT Buses will be buying 400 K230UBs with Gemilang bodywork, while SBS Transit has purchased 1100 MAN NL323Fs with Gemilang bodywork with Lion's City Hybrid Design licensed by MAN. Additionally SBS Transit will be trialling a MAN NG363F for high capacity bus type.....
......in a parallel universe.
Info from BIS most entertaining page on Singapore Buses~

Should buy some Lion City M to replace Darts and Lances~
Tell u what. If they really insist on the PRC buses, I recommend Yutong or Youngman buses.
Alexander Dennis Enviro500MMC

I would recommend this instead: http://www.goldendragonbus.net/product/xml-6125cl.html
Specially made for the European market. It is fully low floor and the seats are installed on platforms which actually maximizes the amount of seats and only 1 to 2 pairs of rear facing seats as someone has recommended on the A22 thread. Since SMRT already got Golden Dragons for their Busplus fleet who knows they might be considering this?
SMRT can buy dong feng, con teng, dong dong cheng and ca ceng bus from china
