You can see such system including both visual and audio channels on MRT to inform the passagers the next MRT station. But why for bus as a more complicated transportation system, there is no bus stop reporting system on bus?

SMRT buses have. But not always on.
audio no need lah
noisy
just display bus stop name on LED or something good enuf
Some SMRT buses are equipped with such panel.
Some buses are over crowded during peak hours. It will be good to have audio system.

Not that our bus network don't deserve such a stop announcement system, but the problem is our bus routes have too much stops, and too close to each other. It just makes the announcements pointless since if one misses a stop, u could just walk back.
No other bus network in the world have stops on an average of 400m intervals.
Yes our bus stops are nearer compared to other countries,Wait cost pass to who?

Maybe it's ture that Singapore get too many stops as a not very big country, but I don't think it's pointless to announce the stop, since 400m is not a short way for elder ppl or people in hurry for some business. I do believe this can make Singaoprean life much more easier~

For what? Bus-stops in SIngapore are only about 400-500 m only

But the MRT SHUTTLE BUS is too slow and someone said no DDs are seen.
This is what SBST is bad at. When SMRT break down bendies are deployed. Clear load faster. And no excuse for bus occupying the bus stop since the people are spread out throughout the road.

It's not bendy good, it's SMRT know what to deploy.

That time during peak hours. The DDs were not available at that time and usally peak hours, there`s jam of course on the expressways.

Ya but DDs are ok too. But maybe the SP buses SBST are used up but very unlikely to happen + SBST has more bus than SMRT but SMRT still deployed bendies that time. Wonder how is the frequency for the normal SMRT svc.
During the countless CCL breakdowns some of them happened at peak hours. SMRT still deployed bendies nonetheless. Not saying bendies are perfect, but DDs shouldn't be praised too since they aren't even utilised in the first place. What about those VOs resting in the depots? A few reported on FB that VOs and even a few wrights were seen in HGDEP and AMDEP at the time of the 19/6 NEL breakdown. A shame they were just being rested by as the pandemonium at Potong Pasir and Woodleigh break out onto the roads.
