I only find OC500LE comfortable in the new SMRT bus fleet, but don't really like the noise from the engine.
Changing bus from the Scania K230UB (Euro IV) to the MAN NL323F is like suddenly, you stopped making your ride uncomfortable - especially when both buses are on services that plies the same stretch of road to your destination and they are back to back. >.<

Similarly, changing bus from the MAN NL323F to the Wrights is like suddenly, you stopped making your ride uncomfortable?

I like the OC sound though, I find it better than the MAN turbo whistle which can get annoying after a long ride.
The folding seat option fitted at the wheelchair bay of SMRT Buses MAN and Citaro is a good choice - maximising seats in the bus or standing space when it's not used.

Comfort or jerky BCs play a part.Ive learn from an old Uncle the technique of smooth braking and accelerate for heavy vehicles during my SBST/SMRT stint. Not boasting here but I can make the Lance a smooth ride although the buses is notorious for surging gear changes.SBST DM3500s is notorious for jerky brakes but hell yes I can smoothly brake even I enter the bus stop like mad cow
MAN bus by smrt one of the best since TIBS days when japanese buses on the road. SBST best bus is the old Benz 0350 DD buses and 0450 single decker buses, the worst was those non air-con old leyland DD buses in the 80s alway rocking when moving off or stop at traffic light. KUB bus is the worst new bus. Don't know why SBST not go for volvo single deck bus? too costly?
No bus is a poor/bad bus~ TBH, it really lies on how skillful the driver is. I've rode on SMB1338E 962, and was kinda shocked that this driver, happens to be a China driver, was able to drive smoothly~ He did chiong along the way, but when he's stopping, there isn't any sudden brake feeling
There's also a few other drivers whom I've encountered, they do drive smoothly. So far, my BEST experience was on his ride(more than 2 times alr). Somehow or rather, I felt that the bus training wasn't good enough for most of the driver, and that they usually tend to switch between models. I suspect this resulted them to understand lesser on the model he/she's driving.
SMRT Buses - "Let's purchase buses that is as smooth, quiet, comfortable and not vibrating like our MRT trainsets"
SBS Transit - "Let's purchase buses that just works. Don't care anything else as long as it's cost effective."

They maybe lousy but in other way they're reliable and not fuel guzzlers as the Citaros.SBST style is practical and economical and in other way they're more efficient in schedulings and deployments unlike SMRT wanna style big time but end up don't give much priorities to their own buses.Amdep already bursting yet sit down do nothin dun wanna invest a bigger depot.Must wait LTA built a AMK bus park then they happy,Wtf!
Simple,They dun pay more attention to cash cow service like 700,963 but end up greedily wanna routes like RWS8.171 can shorten to BPJ already and those 531,971E should operate full days instead.End up kapo some bus from some Svc here and there.178 can shorten BBT looping at BNL Liao.927 crowded every peak hours yet only 3 buses are running end up pax kao pei.961 can shortened to New bridge rd Liao cause Many SBST buses duplicate to the eastern side.854 give Wldep a portion now end up bad scheduling cause Wldep suka suka deploy SDs and newbies on bendies duty blocks.Im puzzled why in sgwiki they put 187 got 25 buses when during certain times bus came like 12-16 mins during peaks?
178 on the other hand is trigger happy Svc,Suka2 Siam bus stops.Ive seen Chinaman Siam bus stops along Woodlands Rd where there are a couple of pax flag the bus..From the era of 12,13,14 and now 16 buses also the same attitude.

Tbh I dont understand why RWS8 is under SMRT in the 1st place if only just to go from Telok Blangah Rd to RWS. Its like a shuttle bus already
Sevice 189 usually very good frequency, SMRT manage 189 very well. (13 buses is enough.)

So sbst275 you suggest that SMRT Svc all convert peak hours?
