Treasure the old workhorses in the public bus fleet. They hold their unique identities from the 90s...and most of them wore the former and current livery of both public transport operators respectively.

The Hispano bodied O405s with SMRT buses is legendary - still going strong after 17 years of service for most units. To some bus captains, it's a joy to drive in.

And to us commuters, the melody of the ZF gearbox and the comfort is awesome for a bus from the 90s..

Stopping my iPod music on purpose so as to hear that ZF melody of the Hispano bodied O405....which will slowly walk into history in another few days time...

Wonder if they will be sold somewhere for second hand use or not...the fleet deserves a tribute.

Oh well. So TIB425R's going to go off with the Jay Chou ad pretty soon.
The last advertisement on the start of the fleet of legendary Hispano bodied O405s....

IT'S 19 YEARS ALREADY??? O.O Wait, it must be an illusion.

TIB427K on 963...feels like it can go on and on to eternity...

Aiya only 2 units deregistered this month and others under 2 years what the fuss?So what if its good?They still have to go.Fortunate already SMRT extend them for another 2 years.

Today, 19 years ago is when the start of the legends started their journey with Trans Island. The Hispano bodied O405s, TIB425R and TIB426M will walk their final full day tomorrow, if they are not pulled from service. Slowly but surely, the rest will follow suit to the end of their 19 years journey.

Not to forget, TIBS made a smiling mascot based on the Hispano bodied O405. That timeless look from that era, combined with the solid look and feel of the bodywork design itself distinguished them from other public buses.

Just awesome for us to be able to experience it when they are still around..cherish the memories and moments with them....

Following TIB425R's retirement is TIB426M after 19 years- with near identical specifications save for one major difference.

Due to the time when non-airconditioned buses were still common, TIBS had likely specified an evaluation unit to be non-airconditioned following the first unit to be delivered together. However when it arrived, it was in original airconditioned specifications with the rounded edge rear window (rounded edge windows were common features for non-aircon buses back then). It has been the only unit to feature this unique rear window since that day...
