Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:The route is very popular PM peak to get to ave 5 and st 61. Dd worthy loading as well. Am peak do go and observe, route is empty until YCK road, when load starts picking up on the other part of ave 5 and then ave 4 to MRT.
This clearly shows that residents of ave5 would have preferred if Sv 269 would call in both directions and go directly to AMK via ave 6. I am not stating that modify the route and hence haven't posted in "route suggestions". Just was an observation on how the loading is different am and PM, and caters to different sets of people.
obviously for am peak, most people are going to work...instead of going home...thus SBST have also introduced downroute for sv269 during AM peak as well.. And how does it show that the resident of Ave5 would have prefer sv269 to call at both direction? if it is your opinion, just say it, instead of saying that the resident of Ave 5 want it. i am staying in Ave5 and i DO NOT WANT the route that u suggested.

Since you stay on ave 5 (between ave 4 and yck road), would you take 269 to amk or wait for 138 to amk? Considering the number of hdb hubs there, is 138 only enough? So you like taking 269 that goes round about yck road also to get to amk? And AMK people dont go only for mrt right? There are many amenities there that YCK does not have. Look forward to your response on this.

obviously, i will go to ave4 and take 76/268 or cross the road to bus stop outside blk155 to take 269/76/268 if i am rushing for time..... i have explain in one of my earlier post.....do not have to die die wait for sv138.
As for those stay near Blk 649, there are alternative buses along Ave 6 to get to AMK hub...

Thanks for your reply. So I was not wrong to say sv 269 has different sets of people in AM and PM peak.
AM peak - from yck road/ave 5 (bet yck rd and ave 4)
PM peak - to ave 5 (bet ave 4 and amk ave 6) and st 61.
It is like 2 different bus routes combined into 1.

BusAnal bro,you should work at either SBST or SMRT buses to gain experience there...When you start holding a post there then you will understand why such routes are created.Practical and theories are different thing

LTA might be a better place, as they have taken over route planning.
There could only be two possibilities:

Another that I have just spotted:
Scania K230UB Batch 2 Euro IV I have taken
NOT
Scania K230UB Batch 1 Euro IV I have taken
There is this BNDEP 36 Malay female BC who is SBS8169X's AM driver (correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't know whether drivers actually change after 1 trip, even when the bus is still on AM or PM). She says 'Thank You!' when passengers board and when she changed drivers with a Chinese male driver at Changi Airport PTB2 at about 3.30p.m, she looked back and said 'Goodbye!' to all the passengers. Have you met this friendly BNDEP 36 female BC yet?
Does she wear tudung?Theres a few Malay female drivers at Bndep..3 of them are former bus conductor with the youngest(early 40s) the newer BC always smile..Soon Lee got a few Malay BCs follow by Bedok North. The least Malay i know probably at Brbp and Arbp.SMRT Kranji a lot of Malay BCs with the least in Ang Mo Kio..2 of the tudung makciks ever drive 998Y and 999U fyi
There are some BCs who have very good manners. They always smile, say hello... But this is not very common.
If the bus is not very crowded and I am not doing my loading monitoring on a service, I sometimes go and chat with bc. Some are friendly and appreciate and share information. Others are reticent and will often answer only to the point. I am also cautious to make sure I am not disturbing them while driving.
Speaking to BCs is a great way to get information. I often validate some of my questions/suggestions with them as well. I feel they like it when I share info with them.

She wears a scarf and sunglasses, if I'm not wrong... Just know that she drives SBS8169X on 36...
