From what I heard from an SL, although it might only be 60% true... SMRT decided to stick with bendies for the time being as their depots and the places their services mostly pass by are anti-DD. As in their own infrastructure is not ready to support DDs yet...

Bendy buses are nothing but a time bomb when taking into account an increasing human and vehicle population. There's a reason why the bus service standard difference between SBST and SMRT is like that of a restaurant and fast food outlet. Double decker buses and the efficiency it brings using the least possible space in small Singapore.
sbst275 had mentioned that purchasing additional bendy buses will not be allowed by LTA (implicitly or explicitly). Correct me if I am quoting it wrongly. As of now the A24s are just a 1-1 replacement for the retiring bendy buses. No capacity addition. So that means SMRT has to fix the situation somehow otherwise they will lose revenue on the high loading sectors due to lack of high capacity buses.

LTA should stop spending $$ on BSEP first(for SMRT), but rather on the SMRT's depot if they(both LTA and SMRT) wants to improve~~
Since they got money also, can go upgrade the interchange height also(like Yishun Int and Bukit Batok).
At the end of the day, SMRT don't need to pay = no bus fare hike = government and people benefits = 6.9m population friendly = economy boost
LIke that also benefitted bus community, don't need debate this and that, or even rage over this issue just becus his idea wasn't what everyone is thinking of...
Anybody knows if there is any more depot tour organised?

i do not think that bendies are banned or not.
given that boon lay had dedicated lots for SMRT buses (all of which are 18m long)
woodlands have some lots for bendies as well
Bukit Panjang temp bus terminal have some lot for bendies as well.

bukit batok's height clearance is 4.5m
Yishun is more on the end-on berths

we cannot force SMRT to bring in DDs instead of bendies, can we?

They want to bring in DD, but the problem is their depots cannot accommodate DD. Only WLBP is able to. WLDEP will be reserved solely for services with bendies and the rest of WLDEP services will park at WLBP. AMDEP obviously cannot, while KJDEP might not due to something in there that I'm not too sure of.

Bendies are not banned, if it was banned SMRT would not have bothered accepting the A24 for evaluation

Yishun is just stupid. Why do you need the cover for the end-on berths? They can just get rid of it when they bring in DDs. Anyway, Yishun feeders / intra-towns should mentain their bendies.

I heard that KJDEP is DD friendly. WLDEP also is DD friendly, there is a certain part in the depot is not. Correct me if I am wrong. WLBP is ofcourse DD friendly. In fact, I hear there are no bendy 18m slot markings in WLBP.

Just on a friendly note: Why do you want to go to hell with the entire community's ill and bad wishes for you. You should understand that you have irritated people to the point, that they now wish that you should die. I don't know what you get from your constant irritating posts.

I'm not too sure about KJDEP because my friend asked around about SMRT buying DDs and the reply was they will have problems parking it anywhere else except WLBP.
There aren't any bendy lots at WLBP, that's why WLDEP parking is now reserved exclusively for services with perm bendies (like WDL feeders/intratowns) and all services without perm bendies are parked at WLBP.

if there were banned totally, you should not even see habits, box bendies, volgren bendies and the smileys ...
