I noticed that German buses have the worst low-floor configuration. Wonder why the operators didn't choose other makes like Volvo/Scania or Iveco. They all have a wider rear aisle especially the Iveco.
Originally posted by BusAnalayzer:sv 20 will for sure get majority DDs as BNDEP has hardly 1 or 2 spare BSEP Citaros (unless the service is run by SBST as was initially mentioned).
sv 141 on the other hand - there are 6 to 8 AMDEP spare Citaros that can be deployed on this service. I think there will be just 6 to start with.
141 should be dual HG and AM, major AM for now. 6-8 buses is not enough for the entire route.

TPY and GL1 nearest depot is BR though. I think around 10-12 shld be sufficient

Sorry, I meant HG and BR. I got confused as the buses are currently parked in AMDEP.
Even though GL1 is nearer to BR, Service 11 which starts there is apparently controlled by HG.

I agreed with SBS 2656X.I think 141 should be dual HG and BR since HGDEP also got BSEP citaros too.

Nice

Not apparently, 11 IS controlled by HGDEP. HGDEP to GL1 and back is much more convenient than BRBP due to KPE
sv 143 has 1 bus reduced, now operating with 25 DDs and 3 SDs.
Should get rid of the Pandan Loop. I have hardly noticed people taking 143 from Pandan Gardens to Teban Gardens. Just increases the run time for people boarding the service to Jurong East. Go direct from West Coast Rd to Teban Gardens instead and have 30 routed via Pandan - Teban Gardens before it goes to Penjuru.
Can SBS deploy DDs on 101 on trial? Noticed lately the loading has been very high in evening peak at HG MRT. Citaros are not able to take load. Either need fleet add or best to have 2 DDs deployed.
The only problem is the sv has poor loading between HG and Serangoon. Maybe a 101A between HG MRT and Buangkok Link can do the trick.

I agree with you about having DD trial on 101.You should write this to SBSTransit if you want to see DD being trial on 101.I want to ask you a question why service 222 and 225 receive DD buses? Cause I don't see the upper deck is fully full. It's almost the same as service 119,like you said that the two DDs 119 are a waste of resource, same to these two service, can just use the single deck buses.

During weekend nights, those Sv222 DDs are quite full.

Sorry bro. I might have to correct you here.
222 and 225 situation is completely different from 119. 119 is more BSEP / politically driven. 222 and 225 actually need the DDs. It is very well utilized.
If you are interested I can share the loading for both these:
225G / 225W: If you ever go to Bedok Interchange between 17.00 and 19.00 pm, you will see a huge queue for both these services. Now, I have this weird fascination for counting pax. Each bus on 225G takes more than 70 pax during this time. So the 2 DDs really come handy in taking the additional pax (of course opposite direction, the loading is 20 pax but does it really matter for a route with loop having around 5 km run).
225G loading >> 225W. For 225W, you will see each bus having 60-70 pax, so the DD here could be questioned, nevertheless it has a healthy loading. Especially in morning peak the DD on 225W is very well used.
Speaking about 222.
I don't know when you saw this bus upper deck empty, but morning peak the loading is heavy between Bedok North Road and Bedok MRT and again at Bedok MRT to Chai Chee Industrial Estate (100-120 pax).
Evening peak:
Same thing. From Chai Chee, the evening peak DDs will take more than 100 pax and at Bedok MRT, you will see around 80 of these 100 pax alighting. At the same time you will see another 60-70 pax boarding the bus at this stop itself.
If you observe 222 at Bedok Int, you will hardly ever see the bus with 20-30 pax because that is not the high loading point for 222, and you also have sv 14 from there.

Not just weekend nights, even weekdays AM, PM peak DDs are full.

This is caused by 101 having the direct link from Hougang Int to Hougang to Ave 8.
Residents living near Ave 8 will be forced to take 101 when it was raining and not 72 or 116. Plus 116's berth was illogically placed far from the traffic light.
Plus with 325 being extended to ply Hougang Ave 2 a few years back, many preferred 101 as it was faster. But during heavy rain, some will flock to 325.

Agreed that it could be the rain, but a small correction: Neither 116 nor 72 ply HG Ave 8. Did you mean HG Ave 4?
For HG Ave 8, people do have the option of taking 161 from the interchange. 325 should be diverted to Kovan MRT rather than coming back to HG Interchange - does not really make sense.
Where has user "service_238" disappeared? Haven't seen him for over 2 months here. He used to provide good info here. Or has he changed his id?
I don't even see SBS1000U anymore.

Simple,He and other seniors getting really fed up and piss off watching those clones and the never ending useless arguments here which is way out of topic. So what if you're well educated? The problem here is some users are really got no integrity and manners,Everything they say die die they're correct without looking at the whole pictures and yet they want to start a baseless argument.Ive got first hand experience in bus operations for both SBS Transit and SMRT buses and yet I still see users post ridiculous topics. Its better that you know nothing rather than talk cock pretending that you know everything cause end of d day you'll get exposed and you've made a fool out of yourself..But too bad somebody love to learn the hard way

Thank you for explain the loading to me.I observe during the non-peak hours only, sorry bro, thank you for correcting me
85,88,112,120,145 and 222 is already a WAB service W.E.F From 9 June 2013.How come no one edit it?
HGDEP should give a DD trail to the HG services that needed DD buses badly.
Originally posted by SBS 6238T:HGDEP should give a DD trail to the HG services that needed DD buses badly.
Agreed. But which services are you talking about? HGDEP has not taken many DDs lately. Even BSEP last 2-3 rounds no DD intake.

True. Even people like sbst275 might have really good knowledge, but do not know how to speak. I just read his post against wsy1234 and he was so rude. He could be correct but you cannot disrespect and write bad words to people.
Is the 168 BSEP Citaro getting replaced with BSEP Wright? That would be a good deciison...
