installed but NOT in use
Btw thanks for correcting my mistake
I do not have the photos as the bespectacled female BC is quite fierce and bus quite packed did not take any pix.
Please board the bus yourself to see. it is NOT flushed to driver panel but a box like console.

Correction
Only console is installed, i believe there will be a panel to inform of route details and such...

I repeat i board SBS8047P this morning, Mar 20 around 1030hrs and saw the console tts all, there may be other stuff YET TO BE INSTALLED in the bus...
I ASSUMED that there would be a panel for bus stop display...
ACx
I would call it Bus Announcement Control (or BAC) instead of PIS as it is not offcially named as a "PIS" unlike SMRT Buses. It would be nice if SBS Transit integrates the display into the Citaro on top of the "Stopping" light.
So it's like the SMRT hang there?
Not surprised if this bus MIA for few days.
Probably above the poster frame, easier for people to see...

But if packed will not for all. Those standing at front door cannot see. Best is 1 at the poster frame and 1 hang at the top like SMRT and both sides can see.
Gonna take a long time before they complete all this. Still got ez-link card reader and now this....
Maybe it follows Citybus Young man panel
or Citybus E400
or Salzburg, Austria MAN 3 axle bus rt.25
Proven SMRT is faster and better planning than SBST~ PIS best suited on Citaro~

What makes you think it is not LTA regulation or service initiatives?!

Hope SBST doors must change to SMRT door closing~
Finally SBS Transit implement this...It's seriously useful for me though~

It's more of SBST's initiative.

Ah yes, it's useful for services that are ‘‘陌生’’ to me.
saw the same device on 8048, there is an additional walkie talkie thing hanging on the left side of driver console.
the hole mentioned earlier is a speaker

Seems like there will be announcements too. Sekali also play "Please hold on to the handrails" and "Thank you for travelling with SBS"

walkie takie thing is there quite long ago..
Does the console look something like this? This is actually MVG (Munich, Germany) version, I find it quite similar to the Salzburg one.
