Originally posted by SBS9C:I would rather the B10Ms to do 27 or 34 because of the larger amount of seats and the nature of the routes that they are plying (expressways/long distances). 43 is ok as there are passengers alighting and boarding every stop. I really hate boarding the overloaded KUBs and Citaros on both 27 and 34 because it is really an uncomfortable journey, and worst still if the bus gets stuck at the TPE Sengkang/Punggol exit (hopefully the widened road will ease the situation).
I really hope 34 frequency can be reduced to 10 mins per bus, while a parallel route to svc 27 starting from Tampines utilizing dds can be introduced.
Yes, hope the parallel route can start from Tampines Ave 5 during PM peak. Or they can implement 27e to skip Tampines North. Or yet another way is limited-stop service on the normal route.
There's the term "bus/train captain", maybe the bus conductor from the past along with the ticket inspector can be known as the co-pilot.

Anyone wanna share their experience with speeding/"chiongster" bus captains? There's one bus captain he shares that drove a bus to (apparently) 100km/h O.O

From some comments made on the news articles :
"I guess the 250 extra buses doesn't include Tampines town link bus number 291. Commuters are still spending an average waiting time of 20 minutes, just waiting for the bus to arrive during peak hours. Queues stretched up all the way down 2-3 bus berths!"
"Shorter waiting times are good, but u should never compromise safety ^^"
" Actually it depends on the bus service that you are taking. There are still instances where the waiting time is beyond 15 minutes"
"250 more buses? Great, more buses will come together in a row now."
Is it really an effective way to just keep adding flavourings to the awful soup? Or should the govt. start tasting the REAL first, solve and brainstorm, before making the next step??
I was at WRI today at 10.30am and saw a large number people queuing at 950 berth. The queue was damn long until at the lift that goes up to Causeway point

Then deploy more buses on 950 to help with the load,is simple as that, add more buses and there will be less crowded, with a 7-8 minute interval, that will solve the problem

Go write to LTA/SMRT/M'sia lorh Even 160/170/CW buses are crowded, I don't think it's so easy to just add bus. You still need to get approval from M'sia if I'm not wrong...

About time SMRT get smart and stop that WAB shit. Make good use of the O405s running around. Make the fleet a 60% WAB fleet will do. If STILL not enough, there are dozens of spare A22s ready for use. I know it may be tough, but if that's what helps a bit to relieve crowd on 950, then... Maybe?

160/170/CW are much more better than 950.I once waited 950 at CIQ berth, damn long sia have to wait 20 mins whereas 2-3 170 buses had already past

Yeah, agree,SMRT should put the SP MAN A22 bus on weekends just like what SBS Transit do to Service 170,adding the remaining SP DM500 to 170 so that it will be less crowded

170 is a long route whereas 950 is just a short route, from Woodlands to JB Kotoraya, tell me then why 950 frequency cannot be the same as 170? 2-5 mins per bus for 170. 950,I think 10-17 mins per bus, lousy frequency and also frequently crowded

Then since 160 is also a long route, why can't it have the same frequency as 170?
Honestly, I don't rely much on 950. But when I do, it's when the queue for 170 is really long. And do 950 have demand after JB CIQ? Got 170 can already what?

People choice and why 160 to have the same frequency as 170? 170 got 40+ buses to cover up for 160.SMRT 950 also one service also cannot improve the frequency

You have somewhat answered yourself already...170 got 40+ buses to cover up for 160, and adding on by me, AND 950. Who will choose the operators this time? All 3 svc head to the same location that most of us goes, that's JB CIQ. Already got 170 to cover up, why is there a need to boost 950? Don't talk about operators wise, at CIQ, I would just board any buses that arrives or have the least loadings. Nobody would wait for specific svc, everyone is rushing to clear the 2nd CIQ to go holiday already

I pity the people that have to wait for 950 for a bus at WRI,such a long queue, then they don`t want to improve the condition and the frequency of 950 at WRI? 950 really need extra buses to cope with the demands on weekends
Best is to introduce a svc 950A loh. Solves all the problem.

I do, but the problem is there's not really any loading [afaik] after JB CIQ. If possible, link to JB CitySquare, Danga City mall etc. I think this isn't a bad idea? Can boost the tourism also ;o

Create a shortworking trip which is 950A from WRI terminate at CIQ,then go back to WRI to do 950A again

You should post to LTA/SMRT about service creating Service 950A since you are the who suggested 950A first

It would be better for the 950 commuters to give. I don't commute on 950 daily. The most I can only suggest it here in this forum.
