Everyone is free to post their own bus loading observation here. Here is one of my examples when I observed on service 50.
By the way, who have done bus loading observation before and find it quite difficult to do it by yourself?
My most challenging was when it comes to a number of people alighting and others, boarding at the same bus stop. But easier if you have at least one volunteer to count for you the the no. boarding while you count the no. alighting or the other way around. Most of these such stops are located at or near MRT/LRT, shopping centres, markerts, food coutrs/ hawker centre, bus interchange, city area and attractions/ places of interest.
count the alighting-to-be pax first, sit behind the exit door on a single deck. otherwise go by the sound of the ezlink readers.

Yes, I always sit at the rear or stand near the exit door when there are alot of people. I also count the number of infants who boarded the bus, so going by ez- link readers sound may not be effective and accurate.
Also it would be very impossible for just one person to do bus loading obersavtions on bi-articulated SMRT buses when the bus has lots of people. But is it possible if there is only one on bi-articulated and how many people do you think is enough to do loading observations on single and double decks.

its possible for one person to count pax on bendy buses. you need to position yourself at the part of the bus you are comfortable with at monitoring all 3 doors. instead of just counting boarding and alighting pax you can also count onboard pax to make sure your numbers make sense. but if the bus is too crowded, just concentrate on boarding and alighting pax. I'd rather not count infants as they dont take that much space on the bus.

Some infants sit. Isn't it also occupying one seat on the bus?

some do, but would prefer to count those who pay their fares instead. It might not be entirely accurate but infants form a very small percentage of the pax load on the bus most of the time.

Then nevermind, service 238. But thanks.
Guess which service I observed yesterday. (Hint: SMRT service plying around Yishun) and of course you should know.
We already have another thread on Bus Loading levels started before this thread. So please use that one. Thanks.
Since no one else posted here, I will lock this thread.
