Why did you want to wait for the next bus instead? Too crowded or your favourite bus?

So suprising that 284's avg loading is higher than 82 and 85 despite its short route. Another SBS route coming up.
yenwei, try indicating maximum load of the bus as well. it indicates if the bus is overcrowded.

I have been curious and suspicious about the requirement of ADDs on s153. Hence, wanted to take it during peak hour to understand its loading. Ofcourse one trip is not an indicator, but the route it passes through and the # of alternatives available, s153 seldom gets more than 70pax.
Also I prefer taking ADDs because it is easier to count pax even in a crowded bus. I sit on the 5th row above a VO3x door so that I can get a view of people entering the bus - count them first, and then subtract the people leaving the bus.

Try boarding at Serangoon Station towards Bt Merah at 7.40am. Another case would be along Braddell Rd opposite ComforDelgro during between 5pm to 6pm, and weekend afternoons. It is the only bus service from Toa Payoh to Kovan, so sometimes pax are unable to board, and some people take 105 to Serangoon to connect to other transport options.

Ok. Will try this out. Cheers!
Loading level for s69 #SBS9849K B10TL
Boarding point: Bedok Int at 17.45, Exit point: Tampines Int at 18.25 hours
Bedok Int (42), Bedok Nth Ave (48), Bedok Reservoir Road (51), Tampines Ave 1 (123 pax PEAK with around 10-15 pax left behind), Tampines Ave 8 (118 pax with 7-8 pax left over, did not take any pax), Tampines Ave 5 (104), Tampines Int (105).
Super high loading in both directions mainly because of Temasek Poly students. At Tampines Int, high loading for pax traveling to Ave 5, Ave 8.
Right now has 5 DDs, 6 SDs - recommend that it should have 7 DDs, 4 SDs. At least 2 DDs should be added.
Again school holidays 69 are always half empty though I agree for school term it should be 8 DDs 3 SDs.17 another one

s17 atleast has 17A in its high loading sector. 69 should have more DDs as you said during Temasek operational days. Also, I think 69 will still get good response as it will help relieve load on s291 along Ave 5, and people would prefer to take it over 293 on Ave 3.
The loading on 291 at Tampines Int was crazy yesterday. The queue for both loops was long and winding. The west loop was still better with buses coming every 05-07 mins and mostly DDs. The east loop was horrible long queue and buses were just notshowing up. One bus was coming every 15 mins.
I could see people rushing from 291 queue to s28 queue though it is a long way. Must be traffic congestion along east loop. Each bus took +110 pax. I am sure there would be 4-5 buses that would have bunched together later.
Svc 88 its either become full DD or better scheduling. Once, at around 7AM, SBS 5135M (BRBP 88) for svc 88 arrived at Buangkok Green. The bus had around 60pax and with the crowd of people cramming into the bus, the bus became full to the door. Unknown to them, 88A was on the way. Many bus arrival apps cannot check the SWT services arrival time. When the fully packed bus left, SBS 3196A on svc 88A arrived. With only 4pax. Bus didn't even stop. For svc 854, cannot do anything. Bendies are deployed in the morning but all are full to the door. Even the Citaros on 854E are full. Svc 62 is a problem with passengers. All the students refuse to move upstairs because it is only a 2 stop journey. Many people get stranded at bus stops because the bus is filled to the door on the lower saloon but on the upper saloon, you can see many empty seats.
Loading pattern for s116.
Entry stop: Hougang Int, Exit stop: NEX
Time: 08.21am - 8.54am on 17-Jan-2013
Hougang Int (06), Hougang Ave 4 (20), Hougang Ave 9 (14), Serangoon Nth Ave 4 (34), AMK Ave 3 (36), Toho Green (38 pax PEAK loading), YCK Link (32), NEX (9 pax entered the bus).
This is the loading observed during am peak, 2 months after launch of this service. It is more of cannibalization of s315 and s72 and relieving their loads, but on its own, the bus has failed to get high loading. Many other observations during am/pm peak also hardly show any standees on this service.
Does anyone else have other observation?
I seldom see 116 packed nor got standees.
Loading level for 804 and 806 at Yishun Int, around 7.10pm..
TIB1198P on 804 - 113 pax
TIB1199L on 806 - 108 pax
TIB1201M on 806 - 83 pax (bunch up)
Noticed that many pax like to chase the bus (sv806) although they know the next bus is just 1-5mins..
Standard that's why you see so packed

Yes - I have same observation. People don't want to wait for next bus even if it is 2-4 mins later but cram into the first whichever bus comes. So much hurry!!
Observation at Lakeside MRT. s98 came, everyone tried to cram into it and finally BC had to tell a few pax to back off. I could see 98 at the signal on st51 waiting to turn. Yet people were cramming. Then 98 came, took another 30-40 pax. After 02 mins 98A came, taking just 04-05 pax.
Will post my loadings for two bus services tomorrow.
Service 165: Clementi- Hougang
Service 83: Sengkang- Punggol
Doing observations on more services soon. Will post several more by this Friday.

The weekday peak loading on the route between Thomson road and Hougang Ave 8 can be +70 pax. The loading has dropped between Thomson and Clementi ever since CCL opened - before that you could see 165 packed in both directions.
Bus anal and yenwei,Can you'll observe 75,167,945,980 for SMRT and 89,94,160 and 334 for SBST?Thanks bro
