It wont happen. Rest assured.
1. Confusion.
2. Mismatch of management and assets.
3. Face.
For the last reason, you can already expect no SBST uniform for the 30 peeps. And its to standardise and "break in" the other 15 guys.
I might be wrong, but this is what I forsee.

And who will drive for SMRT now that the publicity becomes like this and everybody hears about the 6 day week?
Expect to see changes in the remuneration structure as well.
rather they have a fixed basic pay for both malaysians and chinamen, but deduct a fixed amount for lodging and utilities each month...
Its the HR and PR problem once more.....I dont think the intention to strike would be over something trivial.
For one thing, the drivers cannot claim ignorance since it would have been told to them that strikes are outlawed.
Understand ev1's wish to see SBST's equipment on SMRT routes...
As of now, unlikely to happen, given reasons above, transport authorities want the public to have a fixed mindset that there are territorial service operators in SG, SMRT bus operations are still intact despite this labour fiasco.
Remember this point, transport authorities are downplaying the issue so as to over blown this to a diplomatic issue with China.
There are too many contrasting issues at hand here, the world is watching as how we handle foreigners working in SG...

if we’re going to be fixed just because of so called bilateral ties.. Then I think crudely speaking, we really dun have a mind of our own…
If you read the literature on SG, you will be quite assured that SG is trying its best to pander to everybody.
And for good reason too actually.

we depend heavily on china for our survival
and our govt loves china too much
If you are the govt, you will love China too.

Thought they change the top favourite to loving Indians as the top on their chart
China friend told me the singapore govt don' t like them she quoted that Fewer and fewer china chinese are approved to work here in singaporea
Remuneration is just one of the issues that pop out.
there might be others that cannot be published
Commentaries written by concerned folks in ST, zaobao say it really takes one thing to trigger this, boiling anger that has been boiling for some time.
Governmental agencies are supposed to inspect housing premises if they are fit for foreign workers[not overcrowded] from time to time, so how come the issue faced by SMRT workers in WDL dormitory is not flagged up!?
we need to be cheaper, better and faster.
Anything else is just not that important.

SMRT's practices have been wanting since the last incident in dec, yet they have yet to awaken from the slumber.
Sg's problem of foreign workers having adequate, decent housing have yet to be solved, just head around town at night when the nationalities of foreigners congregate, you hear lots of cases of exploitation of foreign workers. Some of them have been jobless for a long while waiting compensation, so if MOM is doing a decent job and is quite to persecute the wrong doers, it would not be such a sorrowful tale for these helpless folks,
Dun believe, check with TWC2 folks...
Every country has their own National Interests to look at, just look at the most recent voting in the UN for the voting of a Palestine state, SG abstained from voting coz if it voted for it, it will piss of the US[major supporter of Israel] and Israel, if SG voted against it, it will piss of Muslim countries and the Arab world.
So if SG government misstep in this labour issue, the Chinese will come down hard on SG. The Chinese likes "FACE" and they do not like to be humiliated, the Japanese are smarting from it after they nationalised the Senkakus late October.

hahaha, Labour chief must really regret this phrase coz every SG worker/ foreign worker issue crops up, this gets quoted!
Its our reality leh.
The root of our woes is really that SG is too small to escape these problems.
If you not cheaper, better, faster, more obedient, who will invest in us?
We grew from investment, we have to continue growing if we are to keep these investments in.
One way to reduce reliance has been to use public money to try for a dynamic substituting strategy, but it produced mixed results with ST co., CSM, Keppel etc etc.
Only people who are fighting tooth and nail in the job market will commiserate with what I just posted.

Digress from topic
Actually from ground up, there are many SGreans who would like to work but there are given a chance to due to corporations mentality tt younger folks are better.[which is partly ingrained by gahmen of the need for more U grads]
Earlier in the 2000s, Gahmen made a mistake when they said they would slash employer CPF to make it more attractive to hire older SGreans, it has been a downhill from there...
Most so called SCs i know are still active in their minds and fit and healthy...
The so called low end jobs that are shunted by everyone is again due to gahmen's mindset that every SGrean must attend U and the education system in SG that concentrates too much on grades and less of human etiquette.
Listen to SGreans/PRs complaining about tray return is really ridiculous and a total lack of civic consciousness
Anyway, not 100% sure about this but I heard 1 KUB passing by my area on 911's route just now~~ :/
If there is any evidence of SBST's quipment on SMRT pictures by anyone, please post an ORIGINAL picture with time, date, place it was taken and direction it was headed to.
Thank You

I attended a talk by MP Josephine Teo.
I think its old news, but govt is raising the uni participation rate to 40% by 2015.
We are definitely going to rely a lot.
A LOT.
On MNCs.
More can be seen with our One-North project, which is targeted at foreign companies. Govt is also trying to match workers with the pharm. companies as phase 1 devt.
I asked MP Teo if she thought that increasing the uni intake might actually run counter to entrepreneurial spirits.....now waiting for reply.

Entrepreneurial cannot be taught in schools by i see local unis teaching it as a module which i find it amusing...
When i look at SG's SMEs, there are no lack of entrepreneurs from Mr Quek of BreadTalk, Kenny Yap[Qianhu], Gain city's boss and many others pioneers before them.
they did not take any course, they have the instinct, foresight and guts, these CANNOT be taught in an aircon classroom...
Classroom taught entrepreneurs are the same cookie shape and CANNOT think out of the box...
just look at the head honchos who took scholarships and heading stat boards, GLCs now, look at the companies and see if they are doing well?!
