actually the living condition at dorms are alrdy not as good as a proper home.. it's how you try best to maintain it... but dorms this kind... long working hours, shift work.... mass communal living makes it worst in magnitude -

Alternatively, if finances allow, rent own room. Somehow, I believe our govt company in Singapore provide better living condition in dorms than other third world countries.

I am not sure if they have voiced out the living condition to the bus company. Whatever, it is only good that the bus company be responsible to provide decent living condition for the dorms. If these staff are invaluable to the bus company, they have to do something.

I slept on the roof because my stay was only 1 month.
You honestly think I could sleep through the south asian monsoon in the open had I stayed till then?
The stars were beautiful at night btw.
I refused to sleep in the bunk where everything there seemed to want a go at my blood.
That included moths!

Anyway, it's not really SMRT's responsibility on the dorms condition(when PRC never give them feedback)~ It should be the PRC's responsibility in telling SMRT the conditions...

Dont think you guys ever got bitten by bed bugs before.
And I still retain black marks from the bites of blood-sucking moths though the trip was half a year ago.
Besides, biting insects are major carriers of disease.
My doc insisted that I paid over 700 bucks in vaccination, saying that South Asia wasnt a place to play a fool.
Unless you guys go out there and sleep in such bunks as I did, you won't understand.

I had bugs on bed before. Disturbing and unhealthy to sleep with bugs.

I believe different countries have different types of bed bugs~~You most probably experienced the bad one~ I've got bitten by bed bugs before bro~ Even kenna attack by Bees~
It all depends on your body (: Of cause the healthier and stronger your body is, the lesser you would get sick or infected by those diseases(those less serious one~~).
Anyway, it still boils down to your personal hygiene and the area hygiene(which mostly caused by we humans)~~~~

sorry, all my overseas asignment i sleep in hotels. deluxe room double bed.company know just in case out of employee's own expense wanna call women at leaast we have double beds. meals also overseas company paid for us, says they have such benefits and can claim. tell us company employees no nee dto pay.
